On November 5 2019, Frontier Developments launched Planet Zoo, a spiritual successor to the original Zoo Tycoon (Valve, please get both of the original Zoo Tycoon games on Steam) and following the success of Planet Coaster, their efforts in zoo simulation games similarly turned out to be a huge success.
Six years and 20 DLC packs later, Frontier officially acknowledges that Planet Zoo 2 is in development, though they haven't shared any details beyond the fact that they will share more details in 2026.
To celebrate, Frontier also made a video featuring some content creators of the game.

From beautiful environments and habitats for animals to thrive in, to jaw-dropping zoos both big and small, Planet Zoo has become a way for us all to express our love of animals, and to share the importance of their welfare and conservation across the globe.
But what does the future hold? Well, today we are delighted to reveal that we are hard at work on a sequel to Planet Zoo! We're really excited about this project, and we look forward to sharing more with you next year!
