During today's Overwatch Spotlight as a part of the Blizzard's 35 Showcase, we've learned about the new plans for Hero releases this year.
A total of 10 new heroes are coming to Overwatch this year; That's a massive increase from previous years! And to get things started right, next week on February 10, Blizzard will be launching half of these heroes which means we will see a total of 5 new heroes get added to the game with the launch of "Season 1: Conquest" during the Reign of Talon.
Each season after the first one will include one additional new hero added to the roster. Here are the heroes joining us next week, but first, subroles.
Introducing Subroles
The entire Overwatch roster is being moved into subroles while keeping their main roles.
- Tank now gets Initiator, Bruiser, and Stalwart.
- Damage now gets Specialist, Flanker, Recon, and Sharpshooter.
- Support now gets Tactician, Medic, and Survivor.
Each of these subroles gives heroes a new passive ability.
Tank Passives
- Stalwart: 40% resistance to knockbacks and slows received.
- Bruiser: Reduces critical damage taken by 25% and while at critical health, gain 20% movement speed.
- Initiator: Staying airborne for 0.8 seconds or longer will heal you for 50 over 2 seconds.
Damage Passives
- Recon: You detect enemies below half health through walls after damaging them for 5 seconds.
- Flanker: Health packs restore 75 more health.
- Specialist: Eliminating an enemy briefly increases your reload speed by 50% for 3 seconds.
- Sharpshooter: Critical hits reduce your movement ability cooldowns by 0.75% of damage dealt.
Support Passives
- Survivor: Using a movement ability activates passive health regeneration with a minimum duration of 0.25 seconds.
- Medic: Healing allies with your weapon also heals you for 25% of healing dealt.
- Tactician: You can gain excess ultimate charge which carries over after using your ultimate ability. Charge cap is 25% but charge rate above 100% is reduced by 25%.
Domina - Tank
Domina is a new tank hero and is a "poke tank" much like Sigma.
- Photon Magnum - A charge up beam that ends with a burst shot.
- Barrier Array - A large barrier which blocks damage. Enemies can take out individual pieces of the shield if they focus their fire.
- Crystal Charge - Deals area damage and restores Domina's shields.
- Sonic Repulsars - A knockback ability that knocks enemies back in a straight line and stuns them if they hit a wall.
- Panopticon - An ultimate which traps enemies inside of their own barriers, blocking both damage and healing. When the barrier ends it explodes.

Emre - Damage
Emre brings a fast-paced "run and gun" style to Overwatch.
- Synthetic Burst Rifle - A fast 3-round burst attack.
- Take Aim - Same attack as the rifle, but you are scoped in while retaining normal movement speed.
- Syphon Blaster - A side arm which deals explosive damage, burns through life steal, and improves your jump height.
- Cyber Frag - A grenade which bounces cleanly off of walls,
- Override Protocol - An ultimate which pushes Emre into the air and arms him with a cannon to shoot multiple shots or send massive charged attacks.

Mizuki - Support
A member of the Hashimoto clan, he is an aggressive support with tools that require getting close.
- Remedy Aura - Similar to Lucio's Aura but he charges it up by healing allies with other abilities or doing damage.
- Spirit Glaive - A bouncing projectile attack which deals steady damage to heal his aura.
- Healing Kasa - A chain heal that can hit up to 3 allies. It has multiple charges.
- Katashiro Return - A mobility-focused skill which boost speed and allows him to teleport back to the starting position.
- Binding Chain - Tethers heroes to an area and ground them if they were airborne.
- Kekkai Sanctuary - Absorbs incoming projectiles and heals allies inside.

Anran - Damage Dealer
Anran can control fire, the opposite of her brother Wuyang who controls water. She is considered an assassin-style DPS who thrives on mobility and flanking.
Anran is available starting on February 5 through the 10 as a "Hero Trial".
- Zhuque Fans - Fires two blazing projectiles, stacking her Ignition passive which sets enemies on fire.
- Fan the Flames - Deals double damage against ignited targets.
- Inferno Rush - Dashes forward and can knockback enemies. Has 2 charges.
- Dancing Blaze - Phases Anran towards nearby enemies, to deal damage and makes her invulnerable for a longer period of time for each enemy hit.
- Vermillion Ascent - Usable while alive, she soars into the air and dives onto a target dealing massive AoE damage.
- Vermillion Revival - If Anran dies while using Vermillion Ascent, she revives.

Jetpack Cat - Support
Not much is known about "Jetpack Cat", she simply appeared in Gibraltar as a stray kitty. Due to having an always-on jetpack, you play in the air for the game and adds a new type of support character.
All abilities were not announced during the streamed event, but here's what we know so far.
- Lifeline - Allies below her can tether to be picked up and moved around the map.
- Catnapper - Ultimate which dives into the battlefield to pickup an enemy, attach a tether to them, and then you can drag them off ledges and such.

That's what we know about the 10 new heroes coming to Overwatch in 2026. Who are you most excited for?
