It's true! Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton made a cameo appearance back in 2016's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. This wasn't just a simple case of a reference to the 7-time world champion (once with McLaren, six times with Mercedes AMG), his face was scanned and he provided voiceover!
Carl Hamilton is an engineer onboard the UNSA SWC-141 Retribution, a space warfare carrier ship which served as the main hub of operations between missions in the Infinite Warfare campaign. Players can interact with Hamilton by finding him usually outside the door leading into the Armory.
Hamilton's voice lines include:
"Captain."
"Under par, sir. Gaskets are fried, valves need to be resealed."
"Retribution's seen better days. Guess we all have."
"Thank you sir, I better finish up."
"Captain, Lieutenant. News report's coming on about The Gateway battle if you want to join us."
The line about the Retribution seeing better days feels like some serious almost decade-prior foreshadowing to his chapter at Mercedes coming to a close with the 2022 F1 regulations not being a great era for the team based out of Brackley, UK. His start at Ferrari has also been shakey, hopefully the 2026 season is good to the Maranello outfit and if what we've seen during the practice sessions so far, Ferrari and Hamilton might have a chance.
Unfortunately, Hamilton's cameo met his demise during Operation Blood Storm, the final level campaign when he exited the Raven dropship.
That deserves an "F" in the chat, boys.

Formula 1 as a whole peaked immensely in popularity in the 2000s and Lewis Hamilton definitely contributed a lot to its success. They've really ended up putting his face on everything. He's the face of his own Gran Turismo Sport DLC, he has a skin in Fortnite, and I'm now finding out he's in this game.
I even remember having a book about the 2009 season which included a mini board game that joked "No, you can't all be Lewis". They knew. :)
Demon and I put together a couple of fun little F1 trivia bits for Roller Coaster Tycoon and CoD: Infinite Warfare to celebrate the start of the Formula 1 2026 season.
Who else is watching the inaugural race of the regulation changes in Australia's beautiful Albert Park this weekend?
