PlayStation has found a new way to honor its 30+ years of players, and that's by putting them into their games. No, really. In what they're referring to as "The Playerbase", Sony has announced that one lucky fan who applies will be placed into Gran Turismo 7 to have their likeness scanned into the game, and to be able to make their own custom logo and car livery.
Other games are planned to have this type of sweepstake too, but for the moment, only entries for Gran Turismo 7 are available. Click here to learn more about how to apply.

For over 30 years, we’ve continued to look for ways to celebrate our gaming community, which has a vital role in PlayStation’s history and future. Today, we’re excited to offer an opportunity to bring some of our devoted PlayStation fans even closer to the PlayStation experience.
We’re introducing‘The Playerbase, a unique opportunity for PlayStation’s biggest fans to step into some of the biggest game worlds by having their likeness scanned and appear within a PlayStation game. The Playerbase will start with Gran Turismo 7, and we’ll be looking to expand and include fans in additional PlayStation Studios titles in the near future.
This community program will be available in select markets in the Americas, Europe, Asia, South Africa, and Australia. For more details, including the official rules, and to submit an application for The Playerbase, you can visit playstation.com/the-playerbase starting today at 7:00AM PT, where you’ll be asked to answer a few questions about your experiences on PlayStation. Players will also be required to sign in with their PlayStation account ID and share additional information to participate.
After reviewing applications, we’ll select a limited number of finalists to participate in video interviews to learn about them and their connection to PlayStation. From there, one PlayStation fan will be selected to be featured in Gran Turismo 7 as part of The Playerbase, where they will have a special limited-time appearance as an in-game character portrait, similar to how characters are presented throughout the game. The selected fan will also help design a custom Fantasy Logo and a one-of-a-kind vehicle livery which will be added permanently to the Showcase menu. They will be invited to a visual arts studio in Los Angeles for a scanning day and to collaborate with a designer to create their Fantasy Logo and vehicle livery.
Over time, we look forward to expanding The Playerbase as additional PlayStation Studios participate, having fans featured in ways that fit each game’s own style and world. Stay tuned for more updates.
