Finalmouse Says SLX Nightfall Customer Shipments Could Begin August 14, 2026

Freedom from Finalmouse provided an update on their Discord server today regarding the SLX Nightfall release, which had pre-orders open (and close) on May 30.

  • Injection molding has been completed of the body of the mouse.

  • PCBA production has been completed and tested.

Now all 10,000 of the molded parts need to be coated so that final assembly can take place.

What is the Starlight X?

Starlight X is what Finalmouse is calling "the largest engineering redesign in Finalmouse history" with the entire mouse being rebuilt from the ground up:

• Shape

• Mechanical architecture

• Wireless implementation

• Firmware

• Materials engineering

• Click sensing

• RF design

So, not just an iteration over the last generation of mice but something new entirely. They claim that the Starlight X is the "lightest, strongest, fastest, and most mechanically advanced mouse ever created". We have one pre-ordered, so we'll let you know how that shapes up!

When Does SLX Nightfall Ship?

Currently, SLX Nightfall has an estimate customer shipment date of August 14, 2026. As with all Finalmouse products though, this is a guess and not an exact date.

Did you get a pre-order in for the SLX Nightfall? How do you feel about ultralight-style mice? Let us know in the comments below!

Quote From Freedom

Production of the SLX Nightfall is progressing through its final manufacturing stages. Injection molding is now complete for all 10,000 Carbon Fiber Super-Composite chassis, and PCBA production has also been completed. The molded chassis have passed all dimensional inspections and Six Sigma Cpk requirements, while the PCBAs have completed electrical testing and full functional testing. Production is now focused on the painting and coating stage. All painting fixtures have been validated and are operating as intended. The coating process is currently the longest bottleneck in the production schedule. Based on the current production rate and assuming all processes continue as expected, we estimate that completed units will ship from our factory to our warehouse during the week of August 10, with customer shipments beginning August 14. We will continue monitoring production closely and provide additional updates as the remaining units move through coating, final assembly, and final quality control.Fr
