Free League hit everyone at Gen Con this week with some pretty big news! A new digital platform, a revised The One Ring, and the release of Invincible Superhero Roleplaying. Let's dive into that, shall we?
Free League Unbound
Developed by the creators of D&D Beyond, Free League Unbound hit early access yesterday and is the official digital platform for Free League's tabletop RPGs.
The tools are starting out with a digital reader and game compendium, which gets you digital versions of books (which look pretty) and makes the entire experience interactive with tooltips, links between relevant content, and an entire game compendium which allows you to search a database for that rule or item you're looking for without needing to flip through your book.
Digital tools have been increasing popular in the tabletop space, and with Free League partnering up to deliver an official platform for their games, this is an exciting moment. Free League Unbound will also be releasing its own set of character tools in the future which will allow you to build and manage your characters.

Can You Port Your PDFs to Unbound?
The quick answer is yes. The longer answer is it will require a manual support ticket, at least for now.

Why Not Just Use PDFs?

A PDF is simply a digitized copy of the book, whereas unlocking the Unbound version gives you access to the content recreated in digital form for the browser, with interactive key rule term sidebars and cross-linking, as well as full access on tablets and phones (which is a no-go for PDFs).
But that's just the "reading" part of it - the Unbound version also re-parses the book's content into a Game Compendium, which is a fully searchable database by game "element" (i.e. talents or ship upgrades) with advanced filtering options. You can also search for rules elements directly through the game's homepage to retrieve the information you're looking for very rapidly instead of page turning (or more rapidly than a Ctrl+F in a PDF).
Finally, the Unbound version will also unlock all of a book's content in the upcoming Character Builder and Digital Character Sheet, allowing players to quickly build their characters and track them during play.
Will Free League Unbound Support VTT?
It does not appear that it is an immediate addition to the platform, however, we can expect to be able to form groups, create sessions, and see shared dice rolls. They team has also committed to game-specific sheets.

The One Ring Revision of Rules
Free League also announced that The One Ring, based in the Lord of the Rings universe, has received a revised set of rules. This is full compatible with every previously published supplement and adventure. It's making clarifications and "additional proofreading" which is how the rules are being refined.
There are also two new expansions being released:
The White Tower and the Hall of Gold: A major campaign expansion exploring Gondor and Rohan, the last great realms of Men in the west of Middle-earth.
Creatures Strange and Foul: A bestiary filled with enemies from the shadows of the Third Age, including Black Númenórean spies, Haradrim champions, and ancient evils from forgotten ages.
This new content is releasing via a Kickstarter (pre-launch page) which comes with an exclusive dice bag to the campaign and there are also Collector's Edition physical books available.

Invincible Superhero Roleplaying
Based on the comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, INVINCIBLE is now available worldwide. Announced in February 2025, the launch lineup includes:
Core Rulebook: Create heroes at any power level, choose from nearly 70 powers, and access campaign tools, solo play, and more than 60 characters from the Invincible universe.
Starter Set: Start playing with six pregenerated heroes—including Invincible, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, and Monster Girl—plus maps, tokens, cards, custom dice, and the introductory adventure Metro Mayhem.
