Elemental Support for a future deck I guess?
Either way, it's pretty solid, especially considering the small elemental pool.
That being said, it feels like more of an arena card than something you'd actively run in Constructed.
Mage needs spells, mage needs burn. Minions dont usually cut it.
Unless the pool is so small you're practically guaranteed to find the elemental you want this is just trash. No to mention that you've got to spend mana on this thing.
Giving away tempo for a payoff that you'll never want to play. No exactly top tier isn't it?
While there are some good elementals of those costs, there's also quite a few of them, so I'm not feeling good about the odds of getting something helpful. And Mage doesn't have any real payoff for playing elementals currently.
Random elemental support. I guess this forshadows elemental shaman in a future set? (I HOPE) Seems meh in standard/wild. In arena it might be nice though.
O-okay??? If this was released back when I was idolizing and building towards Kibler's Elemental Mage, this would've blown my mind. Right now... Well, the pool is actually kinda decent, and pretty good value for just 1 mana. Just hard to justify playing it in any given Mage deck.
Bitter-sweet to see support for Elemental Mage, a year or 2 after it was introduced ... Some day, Elemental Mage will shine; maybe next expansion?
