  • if you want a secret to NOT proc for petting zoo or other synergies.. or if it does it's value getting a 3 cost card.. which generates a 3.5 cost card.. (honestly only huffer would see play as is)

  • It's always Huffer ..!

  • Always like seeing new Animal Companion cards.  Seems a bit too tricky to pull off though.

  • Yay! New animal companions!

I do like this card a lot. Right now Hunter doesn't have any secrets that trigger from having your opponent leave your minions alive, and now whenever a hunter has to play a secret, this is just one more thing you have to consider before making any moves.

  • It seems pretty good, but hard to trigger. Seems really good in deathrattle decks though. Deathrattle minions generally summon more minions, so the effect is easy to get in those decks. Considering this is a hard to trigger secret, it will be hard for your opponent to know which secret you played. This is probably the last secret they check for.

Standard: Will see play in secret hunter.

Wild: Will probably see play in Secret hunter and maybe EVEN Hunter.

Which animal companion will it summon?

    "it's always Huffer"

    • this is almost always a given animal companion cuz hunter always has minions on the board

  • So now we have 4 cards that summon Huffer, so with 2 copies per deck we can feel the board with Huffers!

On a more serious note it is a decent secret in swarmy hunters, so I can see it maybe.

    • Though the same, also traps summon a lot of minions for them.

  • The art looks like the animal companions came out of a disney movie. Always Huffer Pumba.

  • This makes me hate Hunter just a little bit more

  • This secret seems hard to trigger at first, until you realize it's not hard for Hunter to fill their board most of the time. This will trigger sooner than later. Pretty good secret.

  • Does it activate only when you have 2 minions or when you have 2+ minions (because the first option is insanely limiting to the viability of the card and technically, that's what the card reads).

  • Its not really that hard to trigger. In most cases, you play your usual 1-2 drops then something like Inconspicuous Rider on 3 that pressures your opponent to clear the board and if they don't, or guessed wrong, then you get your animal companion up for free.

The fact that it pressures your opponent to clear your board is already significant enough.

Latter, I'm pretty sure, but I do agree that strictly speaking the first would be what the card says. It was played on the reveal stream so you can try checking if you want confirmation. I didn't pay that close attention to it triggering, but I do think there was a board of three minions on one occasion.

  • I'm assuming the secret doesn't proc when you have 1 or no minions on board?

  • It's good! And something different for your opponent to play around, which makes all secrets just a little better. Plus, free Huffer!

  • I'll admit that this card didn't look very good to me at first.

But then I realized it's a perfect Secret to play on turn 2 to curve into Petting Zoo since it'll be a Secret that won't proc on turn 2, and Petting Zoo will then give you two minions to proc this. It can also occasionally trip up opponents who aren't expecting it. I think it might see some experimentation because of its synergy with Petting Zoo, but I'm not so sure about it making the list.

  • So is it two specifically or can I have 3 on board and still get it? I mean to me this looks shoddy regardless of how many minions you control I don't think we'll see this much

  • Very difficult to trigger if your opponent manage to clear your board

  • This secret reminds me of an older Hunter secret: Rat Trap. That secret was ran in secret packages as a one-of to help guarantee more draws with Subject 9. I could see a similar case with Open the Cages being a one-of secret to help have multiple secrets for Petting Zoo or a secret for Hyena Alpha, but I could also see it being one of the first secrets to be cut from the deck in refinement.

  • Good effect you can play around. nice secret to discover early for the "new spellstone"

  • Pro Tip: Handbuff just for the sake of handbuff is pretty bad.  Honestly, it could buff all minions in your hand and still be really weak.  Nice 100 dust for me.

  • Very powerful Hunter secret, if it triggers ;-)

  • Amazing card! Best part about is that the opponent can't really decide to trigger it, giving you more out of cards that require you to have a secret in play.

  • Free boar at the start of the round

  • I like that you can control it a bit to play with secret synergy.

  • Pretty strong with the rest of the Secret package, Pack Tactics and Snake Trap seem like solid way to activate this when you do need it.

  • What hunter doesn't want an extra Huffer?

  • Thinking back to my hunter decks, it wasn't often that I knew I would have two minions left to start my next turn. I don't know how excited I am about a 2 mana investment toget a three mana spell at some indeterminate future time.

  • This is a good Secret, specifically because of how it interacts with other Hunter Secrets to force a punish on the opponent no matter how they play around it. This likely fits into aggressive Hunter decks that already ran Phase Stalker, and likely will be a key cog in a deck built around Secrets.

Really easy to trigger it for hunter.

  • Snake trap + Open the cages = Huffer to face

  • Seems strong in face decks since they tend to fill the board with cheap minions anyway

  • Really strong new Secret for Hunter, and the perfect combination with Petting Zoo since you can make sure it sticks around by keeping a narrow board and then go wide with the Striders, triggering the Secret on your next turn.
