Yasuo/Swain has gotten better with the LeBlanc cards. Now we have non-deep med draw (whispered words) and a unit that gives us a stun (Thorn of the Rose). The new Blade Squire can roll you overwhelm without having to put might in your deck, and I'm not complaining about +2/+0 or quick attack either. The deck plays lower to the ground, so you don't have to run as many anti-aggro cards (e.g. eye of the dragon) that hurt you vs. control. Homecoming at 4 mana is very strong. This deck is a decent user of homecoming - although you do have to be careful, as the ideal targets in your deck (Thorn of the Rose, Arachnoid Sentry, Tail of the Dragon and House Spider) have very low health. Homecoming is also extremely useful against something like equinox or meteor on leviathan.
About a few of the cuts
Minotaur Reckoner: We're not running minotaur reckoner, sadly. It's just too expensive; it bricks your hand early. Once you get it down it's a fantastic engine, but yasuo, swain, and levi are your engines. You need to save your protection spells (which are very limited) for them.
Deep Meditation/Eye of the Dragon package: this package was never a great fit for yasuo decks because they don't play a lot of cheap spells. It's definitely possible to still play this version, but to my mind the 4 mana draw that can draw units (whispered words) is better than a 5 mana draw for only spells.
Yone/Mina: These cards are both good in different Yasuo versions, but Swain/Levi is your late game in this deck. These are both decent adds depending on the meta but we're trying to play cheaper and not brick as much as this deck used to do.

I feel like Minotaur Reckoner is so much better than thorn of the rose. Thorn is just terrible. Imagine a 4 mana arachnoid sentry with a worse statline
You always have to keep in mind that any card that generates another card has a limit to how bad it can be. Generating free cards is always pretty strong.
The difference is that you can keep the guile in hand for when yasuo comes in play. Don't get me wrong, it's still a terrible card, but if the goal of the OP is to flatten the curve, it kinda makes sense
