How common is it to find hackers?

I’m curious because I’ve run into several games where my opponent have things happen that aren’t supposed to. Getting attack tokens without playing rally on my turn, Capture not capturing a unit without them playing and counter spells or spellshields, etc. I looked through the move list, and I didn’t see anything to give them the abilities they had. Any thoughts? Am I just being paranoid?

Sometimes spells don’t show up in the move list which I find odd. I don’t know what all things don’t show up in the move list but I’ve had this happen a few times where I was like the “WTF just happened
All I can say is that I've never seen such things in 4 months of playing. There is always a clear reason for what happened.
That being said, when I was new to the game, there were lots of surprising things because I did not understand how all the interactions worked. By the way, are you aware that Lucian and Garen both can grant attack tokens? Citrus Courier can as well.
Use a deck tracker and review the log when you see something that puzzles you.
I would be extremely surprised if someone were actually able to cheat in the ways you describe and get away with it.
Unlike every single other online game i played, i didn't face any hackers so far in Runeterra.
Now in Hearthstone, there were 2 ways to cheat i can confirm:
1- Animation stack glitch -> Consist on playing cards with delayed animations as fast as possible on top of each other.
Result: The opoonent rope out his entire turn without being able to play anything.
2- Disconection: Client freezes due an unexpected interaction between a few selected cards.
Result: Game times out and ends in a draw.
Hearthstone: Me vs Firebat -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09NCE81owjo
Yeah, I’ve played against them before, and in my games I had checked to see whether they or a rally spell had been played. It’s probably nothing, I was just curious if anyone else had seen this
Thank’s for sharing your experience, mate. I had similar experience. The dude put a 1 mana card in the 1st round (used his only mana) and after I skipped the turn he put another 1 mana card and made an unreseanble dmg. I was like wtf, and I looked back the move list and nothing idicated to generate more mana. Other things costed free for him during the game. The incident got more suspecious after he was taunting through the whole game with emotes. In a previous game that I played randomly a spell didn’t take effect on the oponent, but that can be considered as a bug.

As long as we don't have pictures we can't say what happened.
If you want any constructive feedback you therefore know what to do.
The only thing I can say is that the game never cheated me so far so I can't relate to the situations that you are describing
I however know from other forums that people often don't read cards properly and therefore accuse the opponent to be a cheater because they make use of a niche rule.
If for example you let a scout use Cataclysm there will be plenty players who won't understand why you rally after that despite it just being a rule of the game.
I just have encountered a game that seemed a little suspicous.
My opponent who played a Bandle City P&Z deck surprised me with a Single Combat and I have no idea how that ended up in his hand.
He was playing a create card archetype but none of the cards he used allows him to fetch cards outside of his region, also he didn't have nab or anything.
I checked the event log and all the cards he played there is no explanation.
So do you have any idea how he got access to a 2 mana demacia spell in this region combination?
That's definitely suspicious, the only way that I know for a P&Z/Bandle City deck to find a single combat is either with The University of Piltover or by cloning it from your hand with Curious Shellfolk.
Okay now I see that it was Curious Shellfolk that was creating the Single Combat.
I didn't know that Curious Shellfolk also works for pranks.
