  • Well interesting weapon. In standard might be ok in some midrange Hunter. But might be still too slow.

  • Quite pricy for what it gives you. Not sure this sees play in a world where slower hunter decks are so poor. Were there more ways for hunters to buff their weapons, this could be very powerful, but I can't really see this going anywhere.

  • Srandard analysis (too lazy for wild sorry)

    there are 7 secrets:Pack Tactics,Pressure Plate,Misdirection, Freezing Trap, Snake Trap, Explosive Trap,Snipe.

I am guessing we are getting a new one in this set as well(2 secret synergy cards they usually come with another secret) so 8 secrets.

chance to get secret you want is 3/8 which is 37.5%  hunter secrets cost 2 mana and you get a 2/2 weapon with it for "Free" but I would say..setting up the secrets a turn before for cards like Petting Zoo is quite amazing..

all in all secret hunter looks pretty good.

  • At 4 mana it is a bit expensive. But if Arcane Keysmith saw play, I don't see why this shouldn't. Spending 4 mana to get 2 secrets is worth your mana investment. And spending one card to get two cards is good card advantage. And having the flexibility of discovering the secret is good virtual card advantage. This is just a good card all around, I see no reason for you not to play it except maybe for the fact that it is kind of slow? But 4 mana for a secret and 2 damage isn't even that slow.

  • 4 for a 2/2 weapon is meh.  Allow you to discover a secret and cast it, just really dumb.  I can see this making it's way into highlander builds as it gives you the potential to grab duplicate secrets from your deck and cast them along with controlling the board a little

  • Effect seems solid although the stats could be better. Will see at least experimentation in Standard Hunters, probably not good enough for Wild.

    • A legendary spell AND a legendary weapon in this set? I'm like this a lot. This is the pellet gun you fire in the shooting range minigame, abut an old god-twisted version. Makes a lot of sense for the theme.

  • We've only seen one other card that let you play a Secret for 0-mana in a turn, which was Ancient Mysteries. It's a great effect, because many Secret strategies rely on having one that turn while, you know, Secrets can be used up. I've no doubt this will be run in a top tier deck.

  • I think it's strong on some certain decks, it can improve aggro with more explosive tramps or can be used on defensive style with ice tramp.

But I think that one point of attack will make it very strong

    • Or at least a highlander deck.

We are past the point where those elements are anything special we got also a legendary weapon in AoO and DoD as well as a spell in AoO, sure legendary minions are still more common , but we still are getting those kind of legendaries.

  • I want to say that I'm a bit surprised we got a Weapon with Secret synergy when we still have Eaglehorn Bow in Classic. Imo this will see play still because it curves out really well if you have a coin. You just go turn 1 coin secret + turn 2 secret + turn 3 Petting Zoo to turn 4 [Hearthstone Card (Rinfing's Rifle) Not Found] + turn 5 Captain Greenskin. You should be able to run Captain Greenskin because it can also synergize well with Eaglehorn Bow.

  • Given all the secret synergies that Hunter has this set, I think this will absolutely see play.  You probably won't run this in the very aggressive decks, but mid-range and slower I think will always run this card.

  • This is really good, I think. It could make weapon buffs like Captain Greenskin worth running in Hunter (which I think has very rarely happened).

    • And that's what I like about it. It makes it easier for things to remain thematic when spells or weapons can be used  for  just one class where it makes sense instead of them having to be "special". It's this very fact that I'm excited about.

  • Alright, into Highlander Hunter you go. Too slow and low impact for any other decks in standard imo.

  • There is nothing "meh" about this. It is extremely good for the meta we're about to see.

  • I really like this card!

  • This is super strong imo.  Probably not a facehunter card but any kind of midrangey or secret hunter is going to want this.

Two secrets is 4 mana so you're basically getting to discover them and get a 2/2 weapon for free.  Arcane Keysmith saw play and this is better than that.

  • Quite a pricey weapon, but i feel like we shouldn't underestimate it. Rinling's Rifle costs 4 mana, which is the same as the 2 secrets. So your already getting a 2/2 weapon as a bonus. Also these secrets are discovered, so their harder to play around. And this gives a secret basicly on command, and you don't need to use/waste deck slots for more secrets. You can also buff it with Captain Greenskin for even more secrets, and you can use Hoard Pillager to get it back.

Standard: Will surely see play in secret hunter and highlander hunter. I don't see why it wouldn't see play.

Wild: Despite being a good card, i think it won't see play... But that's because hunter is bad in wild. If hunter was better, then sure it would see play. Probably in either secret hunter, spell hunter or highlander hunter.

  • I think this card is pretty good and might get better depending on if any more Hunter secrets are revealed.

  • Very solid card. It basically lets you cast two secrets for free while giving you 2 attack for 2 charges. I don't see why Hunters won't play this, though it's not "wow" enough that it won't surprise me if it doesn't make the meta.

  • Very good card, I'll prolly be annoyed when I see this.

Being able to discover and play a secret based on the current game state is pretty great. Also, since pool of secrets is small, you have good chance of finding what you want.

  • First thing's first, the artwork is just awesome. Regardless of how good the card is, we can all agree on that, right?

Compared to Ring Toss, you don't need to Corrupt the card to give you 2 Secrets. You just play it on turn 4 and go! That's quite good because it gives you 2 Secrets and 2/2 stats worth of damage. On the turn after you play, it can give you "free" setup for Petting Zoo to get one at least one other Strider, so that's pretty good. This alone actually makes it a decent contender for Secret Hunter.

One problem this card has is with Eaglehorn Bow. It has anti-synergy with Eaglehorn Bow because your Secrets are likely to be triggered before you can equip Bow or you end up playing it on a turn that you can't use it right away. It also negatively impacts it on curve for if you play Eaglehorn Bow on turn 3, you can play this on turn 4, but you'll end up not doing anything with it. This might not be bad enough to where you cut them all out, but it does make them a little bit awkward to play with eachother. You might end up playing one, but not both of these weapons.

In any case though, this seems like a good contender for Secret Hunter and it'll definitely see some amount of play.

  • Hunter secrets have always been strong and annoying to deal with so this weapon is going the right way. It does seem a little too expensive, and having only 2 attack condemns it slightly since its unlikely to be able to kill anything without support. Its also a weapon, which means its always under threat of ooze, and competition; hunter's other weapons not being slouches themselves.

Still, having the option to discover two secrets is not to be ignored.

  • I like how subtle the push for Secret Hunter is ^^
And I won't mind playing it!

  • This is an ok card, the value of 2 or more secrets is good on top of the 2/2 weapon. This card would probably be bonkers if it was epic or rare, so legendary status seems fair

  • I wonder what will happen if you chose to discover a secret you already had in play. Maybe it just wouldn't let you discover it.

  • Seems like a very strong card, especially when combined with the other secret synergy cards. It won't carry a Secret Hunter archetype by itself (Petting Zoo will do a much better job at it than this), but if a secret-based Face Hunter exists I definitely see this being played in it. It's 4 damage for 4 mana, as well as a secret of your choosing, which you can tailor to your specific match-up and current situation.

    • Quote From NerdyMcNerd

I wonder what will happen if you chose to discover a secret you already had in play. Maybe it just wouldn't let you discover it.

It will disappear and tell your opponent which secret you have. just like double casting secrets with Zul'jin

  • This will find its way into Highlander Hunter and some Secret Lists but i think for Tempo/Face Hunter this will be to slow.

  • Two secrets is worth 4 mana. Two discovered secrets allowing you to actually choose which secret is best for the current board state is slightly better than 4 mana (i'll call it 4,5 mana). So, technically, Rinling's Rifle is a 2/2 weapon that cost's -0,5 mana by itself with 4,5 mana worth of 2 controlled random secrets over two turns.

  • I'm not really convinced. Like, you probably want to run this in Secret Hunter, but that means it has to compete with Eaglehorn Bow, one of the best Cards for that Archetype.

It would have better Chances of seeing Play with 3 Durability.

  • Cool design; helps support the secret package that's going on here.  Pirate Hunter Kappa (might be worth trying with secrets and weapons).

  • 4 mana for 2 secrets and 4 damage I think it will see play at least I mean id use it

  • Actually the value is here, but a slow value

  • Interesting, but too slow I guess.

  • While this does go counter to Eaglehorn Bow, [Hearthstone Card (Ringling's Rifle) Not Found] still looks good when compared to a weapon like Desert Spear. The power behind Rifle is being able to choose a secret that best matches the board state in the given turn, which isn't a consistent power secrets from hand or deck offer. Considering how this also puts secrets into play for Petting Zoo, I see this in at least Highlander Face Hunter with all of the new secret synergy pieces.

  • This would be good if there was some way to give it more charges outside of Captain Greenskin. As it is, not very good.

  • costs a tad too much but it has a solid effect, weapon buffs might actually work on it

  • This is just way too slow. But useful in Duels to give variety to the 4-cost weapon pool.

  • On one hand, I'm not sold on a 4 mana 2/2 weapon.

But as a 4 mana discover 2 secrets over two turns, with an on curve Secret + Petting Zoo, and suddenly this makes sense.

  • 4 mana, deal 4 damage and play two semi random secrets, over two turns. I'm not sold on this one. Feels bad man.

  • This card is terrible. You pay 4 for two semi-random Secrets which would normally combine to cost 4, and the weapon itself provides no offensive pressure or board control flexibility.

That card will see play when more secret sinergy get designed on the nexts expansion.

    Nowadays is weak.

  • Not the best attack but 2 free secrets can be very strong, so it'll definetely see play

  • Great card for Secret Hunters, pretty good for other Hunters too. You're essentially getting two free weapon hits with your two Secrets.
