  • I've always found the Dragon-Murloc syngergy thematically farfetch, but okay ...
Guess Paladin could use both, but it seems to dilute each other's tribe syngergy, not enhance the build

    • theres not alot of dragon murloc synergy in palidan for it to be viable keep it pure bois

  • I am glad to see more of this Murloc/Dragon hybrid thing. That was always a fun deck concept.

Anything that draws a specific card from your deck is worth considering, the question is whether or not your paladin deck will have enough dragons to warrant playing this.

  • Dragon + murloc just never took off.. maybe this will tie them in? I really hope it works seems like an interesting deck..

  • Tutoring with a body is pretty decent, but I'm still not sure this is enough to get the Dragon Murloc Paladin deck going.

  • My hopes for a menagerie Paladin deck are slim at this point... I see how this could potentially fit into that deck, but man oh man is the Murloc Dragon stuff a turn-off. Perhaps someday.

  • Murloc dragon paladin again? Damn blizzard is persistent...

  • The fact that it's a Murloc isn't going to matter for the deck you run it in. Dragons and Murlocs have almost completely antonymic gameplay styles that can't really mesh together. That said, it's quite good as a tutor for Dragons, so perhaps Dragon Paladin runs this, or simply any deck that involves using any big Dragon as a win condition.

  • A slightly useable tutor in paladin

  • I really don't like the murloc/dragons mechanics, not because they are bad or anything, I don't like the flavor of it.

  • Until the murloc/dragon synergy cards we got in DoD rotate, this might come in handy. It's a solid 2-drop.

  • There is not need whatsoever for a Dragon Murloc deck. There is however a very good case for aggro Murloc Paladin to tutor out Scalelord. And considering Murloc Paladin is actually not awful (it's not amazing either though), having the chance to tutor out the deck's best win more card is really good.

  • Had this been a 1/3 1 drop, it would've been insane since it curves into Tasty Flyfish, then into something like Bronze Explorer.

On its own, its a 2 mana murloc, and therefore will see play in any murloc deck. The tutoring effect can be treated as a bonus, since if murloc snowballs, you win, and if they don't then Scalelord isnt going to do shit. It does make Skyfin more consistent though, so there's that.

  • Good body and a tutoring effect, I can't see why menageries wouldn't run this. Whether the strategy will be viable is another question.

  • Glad to see more Dragon/Murloc hybrid cards, but why include support so late? Other cards for this archetype, Scalelord and Skyfin rotate next expansion, meaning that Redscale Dragontamer says behind. Also during the rotation a lot of dragons rotate, so that makes it even worse. But you can always just run it to pull a dragon. Now that i think about it, maybe it will fit in a deck together with Dragonrider Talritha? Meh i dunno.

Standard: Not sure what kinda deck it goes in. My guess is dragon murloc paladin or something? Doesn't seem like a good deck to me, didn't get enough support.

Wild: I don't see this getting any play.

  • Menagerie N'Zoth Paladin anyone? Nah, didn't think so... ;)

  • I guess they're still trying to do murloc dragon paladin... for some reason? I don't expect to see this played at all

  • Why would a Murloc draw a Dragon, am I missing something here?

  • Great for Menagerie Paladin, but doesn't belong anywhere else.

  • Maybe paladin runs this in menagerie?  Not like there's much more bigger murlocs, but I don't know If it's strong enough.

  • solid stats for a 2 mana cost and the effect only adds to it

  • You don't really need to go all-in on a Murloc/Dragon or menagerie build to make this worthwhile. It's a 2/3 for 2 that draws a card. Most non-pure libram lists are running Loot Hoarder (and sometimes Novice Engineer) for card draw. As long as you can justify slotting in 2+ dragons (e.g. Amber Watcher, Bronze Explorer, etc.) this could be a tempo substitute for those cards.

In Pure Paladin, this is an auto include since that deck doesn't have good draw. In non-pure? I think it'll be good enough but you already have Salhet's Pride for draw for now.

Imo post rotation, this is going to see more play.

  • I still don't understand the murloc-dragon archetype they're trying to build.

  • For N'Zoth Paladin, this is a free 2/3 body to come back with N'Zoth, God of the Deep and draws your Circus Amalgam or other dragon. The issue is, I don't think N'Zoth can be a sole win condition, and I'm not sure if it fits with the Libram package.

  • I think we might see menagerie paladin attempts.

  • Potentially good with the Circus Amalgam and Scalelord, but murloc decks are best when going fast, and Paladin hadn't the best luck making a Dragon focused deck to consider slotting this in.

  • I don't know that we're there yet, but I can't be mad about continued support for an archetype. Too many times we've seen something - Freeze Shaman, I'm talking about Freeze Shaman - tried out and then just thrown aside. So good on them keeping up this weird Murloc/Dragon thing.

  • Love it in murloc paladin for finding scale lord.

  • I didn’t even know this existed. Seems okay-ish. You can draw Amalgams and tutor any strong dragons if you ever need to. Nice, Paladin always welcomes card draw on Standard anyway

  • I don't get the murloc/dragon synergy thing. I think this is the second murloc that has a dragon effect for paladin. So strange. Paladin doesn't run many dragons right now due to the strength of librams, but maybe something new pops up.

Any draw tutor are wellcome for pally since Divine Favor gone to HoF.

  • It's an okay card in a deck with a couple of impactful Dragons that can be forcefully drawn, but can't think of many practical uses for it

  • Good for Murloc Paladin to draw Scalelord, but Murloc Paladin doesn't really have that much oomph otherwise. So it's a key cog in a Tier 3 deck.

  • They can try next on a dragon raider murloc and I will love it!
