Submitted 4 years ago by

That's quite a steep requirement wow.. they seriously put a BIG paywall for those treasures.. those I have seen have been not that great but still 20 epic different cards from the expansion? I have 11 :/ that's 3600 dust to get the remaining 9..

20 epics? Do they need to be unique or do duplicates count, because 20 unique ones would be nearly all of them.

I assumed the requirements were going to be specific cards that had some synergy with the treasure, not that you needed an arbitrarily large collection.

Yeah, the whole structure of Duels is absolutely bizarre to me. Like, they have been trying to reel in new players for a long time now, but then decide to absolutely screw them over in this game mode. I don’t like this at all, I felt like the rewards should have been linked to actually PLAYING the mode, not how much cash you shilled out

This ain't no place for a hero

I didn't really see it like that, but yeah.

    However:

    i)Dules is fun.

    ii)Prfoit.

    iii)?

The whole shift to busy-work and screen pecking empty bollocks, however,  is not cool.

I think its only normal that we'd see shit like this, not that its acceptable in any way, mind you. The unfortunate reality is that when the mode was wrung out, it would have already had a design document sent to upper management and the first thing they'd look would be the projected profits.

When you start thinking about it that way, it all makes sense. Duels is largely free to play, the introduction of the casuals mode is a deft move, since otherwise few would bother playing it. It features multiple hero powers, and treasures to make each participation interesting. So where does the money flow from? Walling some of the 'interesting' stuff would be a good start.

But yeah, I just went to check a little and can confirm that its unique epics from Scholomance, of which I am a few cards short. Its actually paradoxical that those who would find this interesting over ranked, would then still be required to do the same mundane card collecting expected of ranked players to enjoy it. Its even worse when you consider that most epic cards are largely useless (at least competitively), so there's no reason to ever craft them. Now this comes along walling off the fun until you craft that useless epic. Let's hope you can safely dust it afterwards and not lose access to the treasures. A small consolation, if you can call it that.

A good question to pose is whether paying for it to unlock everything would be a nice alternative. Similar to battlegrounds. So dedicated players need not bust an arm just to enjoy what they want.

I believe that once you have crafted it it would stay that way..

luckily for us schoolomance epics aren't too too terrible.. but still that's a lot of dust just to unlock the third treasure.. it's rally feelsbad and I think people wouldn't make an uproar about it sadly... it's really a huge paywall..

The 100 cards collected from the expansion is also on that level!!

getting all rares + common which most people do is 86 expansion cards.. thanks to the mini expansion people will get the remaining 14 also from commons/rares probably.. but beforehand it's 14 unique epic/legendaries for the second treasure/hero power..

I mean isn't the fact that you need to build a 15 starter deck with single cards.. which the best ones are legendaries.. enough of a paywall?
