  • Flexible and Valuable - a swiss knife really - this is an auto include for Paladin

  • Remember Ivory Knight? I used to like that card when I was a new player, so I am glad to see him reincarnated as a . . . snack . . .

Did somebody turn Ivory Knight into a churro???

    Carrion, my wayward grub.

  • a lot of paladin spells are secrets.. which make this card terrible.. just like Ivory Knight.

    1
  • much better Ivory Knight if you dont care about it not having any stats

  • I fking loved Ivory Knight and I'm super happy to see the effect make a triumphant return on a much smaller budget.

  • Ivory Knight never took off, and I don't think any existing Paladin archetypes need this sort of added value, even if it whiffs on said value most of the time. With that being said, perhaps a slower/Menagerie type build might appreciate this? Even there I'm skeptical.

He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich!

  • Eh, it's not too great since most Paladin spells are quite cheap. Ivory Knight used to be decently okay, but it fell off for this reason.

  • Comparing this to Flash of Light, it can be better in some situations since you can get more healing and/or discover a spell you want to use the turn you play this. But I'm really skeptical since paladin secrets make this much worse and there are a lot of bad paladin spells from the basic and classic sets.

  • Totally solid card.  The Discover leaves a little to RNG in that you could get 3 secrets and you only get 2 health back.  BUT, you then get to drop that secret that you didn't have before.  OR... you get another Libram of Hope

  • Ivory Knight was ok actually, but kinda might be too slow.

  • and even the stats of that sucked!

  • This doesn't seem that good. As DoubleSummon said, a lot of secrets means less value on average. Of course, Discover is one of the best card abilities.

  • Ivory Knight wasn't very good, but it did see some fringe play. I guess it's a good card to be generated off of Lightforged Crusader.

Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
    Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906

  • Its just a shame that this doesn't come on a stick, and that good pally spells in standard is so small that this card will almost never make it worthwhile.

The heal potential is well, unneeded, in a class that is not really ever short on healing.

    0
  • I see this as far more potent than Ivory Knight, the low cost makes it quite flexible. Either dig for answers or look for maximum heal, it should be decent value.

    0
  • Oh cool, more ways for Paladin to find more Librams. But will it make the cut? Libram of Nope and Lightforged Blessing are already super solid in terms of health gain.

This ain't no place for a hero

    0
  • Wow, they made a better Ivory Knight! That's awesome! really flexible and can discover Librams in Libram paladin. 2 mana: "restore 9 health to your hero, add Libram of Hope to your hand" best case scenario, worst case scenario 2 mana First Day of School or "add a secret to your hand, restore 1 health to your hero". Seems kinda high rolly, but you discover so you at least have control over it. But it's still a very flexible card, and can just be a "get out of jail free card" by discovering a Consecration

Standard: Will see play in control Paladin decks like Libram Paladin and Pure Paladin. It's too good to not include.

Wild: This will be in heal paladin, even though it's a expensive deck that doesn't work that well. Maybe it will also see play in some kinda highlander paladin deck? Perhaps OTK Paladins will run it so they can stay alive, and try to discover Time Out!? In Holy Wrath, and heal Paladin it can help discount Shirvallah, the Tiger... Snack Run will see plenty of experimentation at the very least, that is something i'm at least confident of...

RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

  • Very nice stall/control card for paladin, gotta get me some snacks :D

    0
  • With the new spells, I'm sure this will be better than the knight however it doesn't have the body knight did so that might be a turnoff for some

    Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds

  • I only remember Ivory Knight seeing play back in the day with Anyfin Paladin as 1) that deck was desperate for healing and 2) it allowed for getting an extra copy of Anyfin Can Happen. Of course, Snack Run has the weakness of secrets reducing your choices, but maybe Libram Paladins want potentially efficient ways to find more librams? I think that archetype has more efficient plays than this, as well as having great healing with Libram of Hope, but there might be a chance of this being a tech inclusion.

    For glory, honor, and gold!

  • Ivory Knight ability.

    0
  • Cheap heal+discover a spells.

If you discover libraam of hope it's a 9 heal + 8 of the card... I think that can see play, maybe not with that meta, but maybe with the next rotation.

  • Ivory knight without the body just doesn't seem that strong to me.  Maybe run in libram paladin for extra librams of hope, but otherwise not good imo.

  • Garbage card. A lot of comparisons to Ivory Knight, but it's more like a 2 cost Renew for Paladin.

    0
  • Ivory Knight was bad because the decent effect it had was stuck to a 4/4 body, shoving it at way too high a mana cost. The few times you get all Secrets with this will suck, but there are also some really good spells to hit with it, especially later in the game when you can play them the same turn.

    Welcome to the site!

  • I like it, but I'm not seeing a specific deck that has room for it. :(

    0
  • Ivory Knight without the body... actually doesn't sound that bad, especially when it can be used earlier than the minion ever could.

  • paladin card... heal 1

    All hail the banshee queen.

    0
  • This is really good, paladins got a really solid set.

    0
  • I think the Paladin spell pool has been diluted with too many low cost spells. I don't see this getting much value in the current meta. Are there many big ones that Paladin would even like to discover?

Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.

    0
  • Nope.

Chumbawumba is the worst band name.

    0
  • Discover Lay on Hands. Heal for 16!

    0
  • It's decent for a slow Paladin that just needs to survive. Paladin unfortunately has much more powerful things to do than just Discover spells and gain back some life.

  • I used to love Ivory Knight, 5 stars just for the nostalgia.

And even without a body you can discover something that you can make use of it on the actual state of your game

    Good card imho
