This is a weird card, and rather difficult to evaluate. It isn't hard for you to play around this by placing smaller minions on the edges, so in most cases I don't think you giving a minion to your opponent will to terrible a downside. The question is whether or not your opponent has placed their good minions on the edges of their board. It is nice to have the flexibility to choose which way things go, but I am not sure if that will make it reliable enough to play.
However, this will be a lot of fun in the chaos Shudderwock deck that I just decided I want to build.
*edit* after playing a few games with the aforementioned Chaos Shudderwock deck, I can say that this guy is fun, fairly useful, and can backfire with shudderwock real bad (I gave my shudderwock to my opponent, and then he continued to trigger all of his battlecries from their side).
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Warlock will enjoy this card along with Howlfiend. It is too slow to be really impactful against combo decks though.
hmm, priest summons a big taunt with deathrattle: summon more taunts? easy, rotate the minion and gave them 4/4 body and still have 3 mana left to spend. Pretty slick
Knowledge is Power
First, I don't think that this is much good without combos related to giving your opponent a minion, just because only a fraction of decks will ever put up something worth stealing. Compared to Sylvanas, this card is really quite weak.
Secondly, I am very happy to see a neutral treachery. I doubt that any deck that uses this card as a treachery will be good, but I can guarantee that they will be interesting to attempt.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Interesting take on Mind Control Tech, but at 7 mana i don't think this will ever see play. (Realistically)
In wild this is still a bad minion. It's way too expansive and needs several Emperor Thaurissan ticks in order to become a "decent" combo card. Also Warlock already has a similar card called Treachery, which is cheaper, and can be targetted. Sure Silas Darkmoon can trade itself for a good/bigger minion, but once Silas Darkmoon gets into any kind of meta deck, everyone will play around it. Which makes the card bad again.
Actually maybe galakrond priest likes this card, it's a "steal a minion" card, and your opponent will get mad IRL if you steal their big wincon, mainly paladins if you steal their minion with Libram of Wisdoms on it.... Wow Silas Darkmoon actually 'screams' "I'm a neutral priest card", now that i think about it...
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
You can definitely catch a lot of players off-guard with it since most people don't really care about where they place their minions, which can allow you to grab something really big. Particularly, Paladin and Shaman can summon tiny things with their Hero Power to give to the opponent which can be good with it. After a few weeks though, people will most likely learn to play around it if it does see play.
Here's an interesting thing to try out though in Warrior: Soulbound Ashtongue. Use Silas to give it to your opponent, and then Shield Slam it.
This card will for sure be interesting.

This might not find a home in a meta deck but he already gave me enough of a pay off to receive a thumbs up. I used him to steal a Face Hunter's Dragonbane when he was trying to set up lethal. That felt good...

Thank you for the idea... I’m going to go and bonk a few people now..
This ain't no place for a hero
This will definitely force players to start thinking about positioning, but I can’t see it making that much of an impact for 7 man
Good to know! Thanks for the effort to report that
I will probably hate to encounter this. I forsee fringe play as disturbance tool in standard.
Well we can play with it currently so which decks can actually use this guy?
First thing came to mind is a 7 mana mind control, give your opponent one of your minions.
Very niche effect, I think will only appear in specialized decks.
Already a win condition in control warrior with Soulbound Ashtongue + Shield Slam
But since its not easy to manipulate, I'll stick with my opinion that most of the time this is played its just to act as single target removal, and nothing else.
This is a neat card, and has massive power potential. Good luck playing around this.
Since we all just got this card, is he in the pool for the current Tavern Brawl? (Haunted Carrousel) That would be some laughs.

Cool niche combo piece (e.g. give your enemy a Doomsayer), but probably not exciting enough to see a ton of play.
Actually, this is a very nice combo for control deck and make this card much more playable. I.e put 2 doomsayers in your deck. One can be used early game vs aggro, and late game the other one can combo with this card if a big clear needed. Both the doomsayers and Silas can be use when needed , so the combo is very flexible for a control deck
Careful where you place your biggest minions ;)
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I'm using that combo in Wild Mode and works really good with Emperor Thaurissan, Bring It On! and Mo'arg Artificer.
The last Game against shudder shaman i've dealt 98 damage.
But i don't see that combo at standar without mana cheat or massive amor cards.
By The Holy Light!
Great card, if the opponent has only 1 minion it makes me remember Gilded Drake from MTG.
This card is pretty solid. A 7 mana mind control is a pretty solid thing. Granted, it would require some set up, but... it is something to help neutral out a lot
Battlecry: Give your opponent a Silverhand Recruit
This card belongs in the specific Soulbound Ashtongue decks, basically combo decks. After seeing all the crazy combos in wild, I can see he's only really meant for those juicy meme wins
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
found an opponent (at Legend!) playing this to steal my 8/8 Divine Shield guy ! :(
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Well this seems to be already doing something... That warrior deck seems solid.
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
After tinkering with the card, I can say it is pretty weak but it can provide really fun combos, so a definite 5/5.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
I really like the uniqueness of this effect and can't wait to see the shenanigans by people with wrinklier brains than mine.
A fun tech card, but definitely not for every deck.
There's also a clear correlation between free legendaries and the mana cost 7: Silas, Kael'thas (although I guess he technically was 6-Cost when awarded), Galakronds...
used this in a control deck uses a bit of your brain power but if you have minions other than this you could make some really good trades
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
Turn out this is a solid meme machine all these crazy combos have come from him, plus getting a minion whilst giving them a silver hand recruit is nice
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
It was free, what's not to like and it introduces a new mechanic.
More of a meme card than anything, but fun watching when those meme decks go off!
Can see really fun combos to do with this card
All hail the banshee queen.
It is so good to see more exploration of minion placement.
We've already seen some of what this card can do with wild armor warrior. I've been snookered a few times in standard as well by having a big finisher rotated away from me.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Doctor 7 is back again to our lives.
Anyways Archmage Vargoth breaks the rule :P what they share for sure (and old C'Thun came rapidly to my mind) is a "funky mechanic" that is not shared with other cards

Never ended up being that strong, besides the shield slam warrior. The deck was never that good, but I like that they made a unique effect for this guy.

Besides the fringe combo potential, I think Silas Darkmoon is too slow for the cost. Also, I don't think Silas is the best answer to the situation where your opponent has a high priority minion on the outside of their board, as you spend most of your turn taking the minion and giving them a minion back. IF your opponent has multiple substantial minions on board, Silas just feels like such an inefficient play.
For glory, honor, and gold!
This is a very expensive tech card, I think.
My only experience with this card I managed to rotate the board the wrong way because the prompt wasn't clear to me - so that was fun. I like the effect though, always down for wacky things like this.
Welcome to the site!
Hello weird combo enabler!
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
I hated that brawl, so this effect annoys me.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
This has won me a few games already, specially against Paladins that like to pour all their buffs into the only minion they have in play!
Well, this card is already released so it feels weird to evaluate it now. Saw play in a few meme OTK decks, and maybe one of those is good enough to continue in the meta.
