Last region and champion distribution
So I have been lurking abit on reddit and found a thread being glad we now don't have spoilers it's time to speculate.
Looking at the map of runeterra: https://map.leagueoflegends.com/en_US
We can see 10 regions( 8 in game ones + Ixtal and Shirima) , zooming in a bit we also see Bandle city and The void,
Bandle city won't be included since the most key character- Teemo is already in P&Z also lulu is in Ionia..
Now I read on reddit Riot confirmed that there will only be 10 regions but we have 11 bigs ones Shurima is gonna stand alone most likely since it's big, now the question is the void vs Ixtal...
The void has more champions but a lot of them are not geografically there..
that's why I think Ixtal (a 6 champion region in universe) is gonna be the last one.. then it leaves according to the region spread
8 Void champions,5 Yordles and 14 Runeterra champions that do not have any main region so we have them as "travelers".
I discounted those that already have a place btw.
Void:
Shuriman Void people": Malzhar,Kassadin,Kaisa - they belonged to Shurima in the past so now they would return there.
Shuriman creatures: Rek'sai and Kog'maw
Ixtal roamer: Kha'zix (he fought Rengar in the jungle)
Unknown: Cho'gath and Vel'koz they can be anywhere.
Bandle city except Veigar and Yuumi all into P&Z, Veigar is probably in Noxus cause of Mordekaiser, and Yuumi is spirit like she would fit Ionia.
Runeterra: Obvious ones:
Jax and Zilean: past residents of Icathia, a Shuriman city.
Bard: A celestial spirit so Targon is a natural fit.
Annie: raised in a Noxian territory, can't seem to fit anywhere else.
Fiddlesticks and Evelynn: thematically fit Shadow Isles.
Senna(champion version): Can be both Shadow Isles and Demacia really, she as herself is Demacian I think she will have a tie in mechanic like lucian.
The rest are less obvious at least for me:
Shaco: no idea, he has so little lore about him.. he is a demon like FIddle, Evelynn,Nocturne and Tham Kench, I think I saw a story about him in Nxus but that's not a tie in at all.
Ryze: He is a mage that travels the continent I don't think he has a home region.. at all.. I think they will just give him a back story like teemo in a region probably in Ixtal.
Brand: His origin is Freljord but having a fiery card in Freljord would be weird since he is using elemental magic I would say he will be in Ixtal but I am probably wrong about this one.
Nami: she is a fish so Bilgewater…? not really..? she has some divine powers so maybe taragon? dunno…
Kindred: The spirit of death.. Shadow Isles right? probably right huh… they don't actually belong there though.
Alistar: We don't know much about him, but I can see him in Noxus.
Aatrox: The Darkin are originally from Shurima, failed ascended but his color scheme and warmongering reminds me of Noxus..
So what do you think? do you think the last region will be Ixtal.. or I am wrong and the void will be a region by itself? do you think you can find of a good placement for the 7 none obvious "runeterran" champions what about Cho'gath and Vel'koz?

I would love having Ixtal as a standalone region but I think that Shurima and the void will be our two next regions, mostly because they are more popular than Ixtal and they have more legacy champions. Shurima has nine champions (Amumu, Azir, Nasus, Rammus, Renekton, Sivir, Skarner, Taliyah, Xerath) that even without counting the Darkin and void champions who are Shuriman in origin. The void has eight (Cho'Gath, Kassadin, Kai’Sa, Kha'Zix, Kog'Maw, Malzahar, Rek'Sai, Vel'Koz.)
Shurima is no brainer, the region is huge, unique and have a lot of champions.
Ixtal is small in champion pool but it's a huge jungle which now watching Necrit I realize is isolated so travelers from Ixtal? not gonna happen. If there are 10 regions only and not 11, there need to be Shurima & void or Ixtal & Void or both alone with void being split up.
since when zooming out of the map in universe you see Ixtal and not the void I am inclined to believe Ixtal is gonna be a region by itself, now I am not sure if it will be Ixtal + Void or Void will be like Bandle city.
The Void is located in Icathia, an ancient Shuriman city, south of Ixtal.
Kha'zix is in the Ixtal jungles for sure he fought Rengar and I remember them writing a short story a few years ago so he is still there, besides them being in the same region would make sense gameplay wise.
They should add an "Arcade" region just for my boy Veigar and his gang

Alternate universe region? I think it would really piss off people for 5 KDA cards people lost their minds XD
If you still can find that thread, I'd like to see it. I can't remember them confirming they would only do 10 regions, but I do think they've mentioned something like "once we have 10 regions" which just means "after August 2021".
I fully expect the three regions (Shurima, Void, Ixtal) to have their own sets in Runeterra as well. Maybe they'll even do a "neutral" Runeterra region for the champions that don't quite fit anywhere else. But it indeed seems Bandle City won't be getting its own region.

Maybe I am wrong then... 11 regions would cover everything but then the void will need to have skins(like void fizz) to add more than the base 8 champions since the void is very specific compared to other regions, nobody "travels/operates" in the void but the void can travel/operate in other regions..
anyhow we will see next expansion or in 2 expansions I assume we will get Shurima first, but it can be Ixtal/Void if we get the Void this debate is over.. if we get Shurima this is over when we get a void champion out of their region.
I doubt we will get a neutral region since there are just not enough regionless champions.. (Ryze,Alistar,Shaco,Kindred,Brand,Nami,Alistar)
and from them only Ryze and Brand(I don't know much about Brand though) truly have no real region.
The other 7 have obvious/easy regions.
