Classic set - speculation

Blizzard said, that [Hearthstone Card (Edwin van Cleef) Not Found] will rotate but Hall of Fame will be no longer and they will ease the access for new players.
So, my speculation what will happen.
- Classic set will rotate, just like all Year of Dragon sets. If you have unopened Classic packs, you can open them and use in Wild format.
- Blizzard will create a new set, lets call it Core set or will extend the Basic set with new uncraftable cards taken from existing wild cards card pool. This set will be granted to all players for free.
- If you already have the card(s), you will get a new copy just like we get cards during last year Wild event (we got copies of cards like Evolve etc.). The technology is here.
- Each year (or as needed) Blizzard will update the pool of cards from Core set. They can remove cards or nerf them as needed, as there are no dust/crafting/pack costs.
What do you think?

I just hope that would happen.
Asides from that, it would be a good thing if something like that happens, it's fresh air for standard (with the added shenanigans that will break the game if old cards are introduced in standard, much like Doom in the Tomb)
I'm a wild player mostly, so if they introduce NEW cards (asides of the new mini-set and next expansion) that will be ok, if they just rotate classic to wild, well, I really don't care. The decks are almost set in stone for a while and that makes the game cheaper in a sense.
For now (like always in the past few months/year) we'll have to wait till they decide to lay out thing to us, and well... they aren't good at that, so might as well be seeing the news 1-2 days before they change everything, not see any news at all, or they will go for broke and put an announcement in the patch.
Really hoping they don't screw it again.

IF theyre indeed gona rotate bbsic/clasisc in basicly entierly i hope get some compensation and actullt bother to unnerf most if not all cards (or partial like did with gigglign in last unnerfs) since wild can handle the higher power, would make people be able with old combo's/decks/cards again and it just makes no sense to keep nerfs that where doen cause hteyd be in standard forever, when they arent in standard at all anymore.
ANd with the giving new copies liek doom in tomb if is indeed rotating could if needed have a weakedn/nerfed version be the one in standard (like say rockbiter at 2 when are going for more windfury stuff for shaman in standard that year but dont want it to be eays to burst but stillhave ti aviable) and keep the unnerfed.
And compenstation if tis dust, packs or anything i dont care to much(id prefer just they refund us like Hof but most likly wont) And they have to as they had said and promsied when wild and standard where seperated theyd forever be in standard which is why Hof gave dust refunds.
And while rotating set would be nice I HEAVLY doubt it will be and even more beign actulyl old cards being back from wild i think more likly is just they roatet all in wild and make new basic/classic thats genrerly far weaker and way less usable then current(which already has alot of bad/terrible stuff in it absic+classic)
By rotating you would get the same compensation as for rotating the old sets - nothing.

Its likely an expansion of the basic set, of which in this case would be completely free for all players. This means every player will start the game with a set of cards and will only need to concentrate on the expansions, instead of both expansions and classic.
An easy guess would be that the expanded basic set would be completely ineffectual, or at very best contain only very general cards, like Acidic Swamp Ooze. Certain iconic cards may be retained, like Unleash the Hounds, or Backstab, but the vast majority of the cards will be in the same line as Psychic Conjurer or Brightwing.
Its both a good and a bad thing. The good thing is that it does actually make it easier for new players to come in. The bad would be that expansion cards would be more important than ever, and having fun in hearthstone becomes even more expensive (and that's a scary thought, considering the present)
Well then that goes against evrythign theyve promised and said about classic set.
Hall of fame gave/gives dust refunds BECAUSE the classic and basic set are/where susposed to be eternaly standard By blzizards Own words.
The classic +basic set always has gotten a different treatment then regular sets. So i DONT think tis unreasonabe to expect/want ANYTHING at all if they rotate it all.
I said this in another post, but I figured I'd summarize it:
I just hope that they do not go in the direction of MTG back in the day and expand into multiple playing zones (e.g. Type 1, Type 1.5, Extended, Standard, Block). While for a physical card game, as long as you have the cards, you can have a plethora of decks to play. In the format where we are though being 100% online, and with a limited number of decks that you can have, doing that would really irritate me.
Regardless of what is revealed, we can count on it being a little bit of a money grab. Whether we like it or not or how they choose to market it, unless there is going to be an expanded FREE basic set of cards that doesn't rotate, it's going to be something that will cause people to spend more to get the new cards.
I think new game mode for this exp cycle is the new version of standard with rotating availability of sets/cards. Current standard will still exist as “Classic” mode so people can still play the way they do now if new standard mode is a failure.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
I was getting it exactly as Blizzard informed us now. Even the name of the Core set 😀

You only get half credit for that because you hedged and said "maybe Basic."
Wow, what a call!
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

So, here is my newest speculation.
Tomorrow we will get a huge update with Classic and Basic set rotating and Core Set being given out to everyone.
Why? I do think Blizzard do not want to overshadow the FitB with Core set, so they will release the Core set ahead of FitB.
Also, they want to spoil the entire set tomorrow (source: https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/news/23622607/welcome-to-the-year-of-the-gryphon ), so this is the date. What do you think?
-=alfi=-
they already confirmed that the core set will come with the rotation
"When you log in after rotation, you’ll automatically be granted the new Core Set cards equal to your current level for each class!*"

I wonder what tribes will get supported. Hoping for Elemental Shaman!
