New Hunter Minion - Selective Breeder

Seems like one of those cards that needs more contexte (as in, it was designed for something from the year of the Gryphon we haven't seen yet).

The statline just seems incredibly weak given that it is clearly supposed to go in a midrange deck (unless the elusive combo Hunter becomes a thing). I suppose it's good if you have nothing to play on turn 3 and this fetches your trusty Bearshark from the deck, but other than that I believe there might justt be better plays.

There haven't been many Beast-synergy minions that aren't themselves Beasts that have ever seen play - I guess Houndmaster saw play during the Beta, and Kathreena was a very powerful card in Standard for a couple of years. It isn't obvious that this card would see much play if it were a 2/2 - but paying 2-mana for a 1/1 surely must make it the weakest new card in the set.

I think this will be a very good card actually. it's Stitched Tracker, with -1/-1 but with way better tutorring. Selective Breeder might also make a Beastmaster Leoroxx deck viable (If the meta slows down enough), because that deck really needed ways to copy certain beasts. Don't underestimate this little guy, because it has a lot of potential. (Like if they print ANY big/OP beast it will become really strong.)

Selective discover from deck and copy are really good, I think this will see a solid amount of play, maybe not in quick aggro but in some midrange hunter or a combo deck/buff a few beasts in hand if one appears.

Tutoring is always very strong, even with a puny body like this. If your deck contains only the best Beasts, this is guaranteed to draw the nuts. How about Moonfang, King Krush, Zixor (for example)? Or Trampling Rhinos in a combo deck?

It discovers, it draws, and it cost 2. Is there anything else that needs to be said?

Since most hunter legendaries are beasts, this one can and will draw them if that's the win condition of the deck. And unlike something like Scavenger's Ingenuity, this allows for flexibility in discovers, so you're not necessarily screwed by the wrong card at the wrong time.

But will it be good enough? I can't see why it wouldn't merit some inclusion, if only because hunters cant draw and this cycles itself while providing some tempo.

I much prefer beast midrange hunters, compared to face huntards, so I am definitely looking forward to this card
