    This spectral bow is eternal. It just demands some skulls as sacrifice for its power.

    One question... "Dormant for 1 turn" would be equivalent to "At the beginning of your next turn"? Or would it be the turn after the next one? If it's the latter, then my card is definitely too weak.

    Dormant procs starting on your next turn, so Yes, "Dormant for 1 turn" would be at the beginning of your next turn.

    I have two variants of my classic card, Zelfrax the gargoyle; the original with some tweaks, and a brand new version:

    ,

    The original (on the left) was designed to be like a Weeping Angel from Doctor Who: if you can see it, it turns to stone; if you can't see it, its true form is revealed and it tears you limb from limb. You can use a card like Leeroy Jenkins to purposefully summon a minion for your opponent after you attack with Zelfrax: Zelfrax will go Dormant, you clear out the Whelps, and then the gargoyle awakens to attack again!

    The new one on the right is an attempt at disruption. Your opponent wouldn't know what minion you chose so they would have to be wary of playing their combo pieces or aura-minions, fearing that one might be subsequently killed. I wasn't sure on the cost, because what if the minion is never played, you know? You spent 3 mana to do nothing, at that point.

    Oh, seriously? Dormant? I just made this yesterday. Ultimate removal tool and Archdruid Naralex combo. I'm not sure about it's cost. And maybe Naralex combo is too OP and it this card should target only enemy minions.

    I've submitted a saved up card about 5 minutes after this competition started, Sleepy Spell Scribe which I couldn't submit in competition 2.17 (When Worlds Collide) because Dormant got banned.

    My, hopefully not too simple idea. Can't be more straightforward than this.

    • R: It feels pretty weak and unfun tbh. It removes one of the enemy's board slots forever and can lead to possible frustrating matches if someone figures out how to repeat this battlecry. The hero power also doesn't say random, so do you get to choose from the 5 cards?
    • linkblade91: Love the flavour and art, though not sold on the designs themselves. The second version is worse, often it can whiff and make you choose between some shitty 1 drops, or minions it can't kill. First version is better but idk where you'd use him for. It requires many board clear options, so control deck, but why they want Kor'kron Elite for 1 mana less?
    • Wailor: My favorite idea so far. Only complaint is that paladin can't really use it well, no big combo pieces like priest, mage or warlock have.
    • Nirast: Uh... k, very weird design. Honestly it might either be too OP since it's easy to trigger when you want it and copy it with stuff like Bloodsworn Mercenary, or 30 armor is way too much and this is useless. Overly-complicated and giga otk cards don't usually get good votes so i suggest you try something else simply cause people won't vote for this.
    • Demonxz95: Dormant weapon, now that's new and cool. I imagine it takes up a board slot like usual Dormant minions. I like it a lot, easy 5 stars from me.

    Well, since the flow of cards for this competition is going to be extremely slow, it looks like giving feedback now is sort of necessary even with the small number of cards to go by here.

    There is….. a lot going on here to say the least. This card carries a Patches problem of being very very bad to have in your opening hand, but otherwise very good to have pulled out of the deck. And you get it pulled out of your deck for free, so as long as you aren't planning on building a deck that will have 7 minions on the board, you're basically playing a 29 card deck. If you don't have it in your opening hand that is, because there's very much a "feelsbadman" aspect if you do and then the card is 1000 times worse.

    I really like the card, but there seems to be a disconnect between the flavor and the name. If you exile your own minion, you're casting it aside and you're not allowing it to come back. So, to "exile" your own minion only to bring it back later seems a bit weird.

    Aw, I remember this one all too well. I do think the second version is more interesting personally, but it might also end up having the most polarized votes.

    One of Druid's main weaknesses is supposed to be hard removal, so giving them essentially a Silence + Destroy on a minion and also take up a board space seems very out of left field for Druid. While Naturalize and Mulch both exist, but both are very old cards from when the design philosophies of the game were not the same as they were back.

    The Hero Power also seems very strong whilst also being a bit too gambly. You could get a Laughing Sister which no one really wants, or you get a Ysera Awakens which is of course very good and incidentally also goes into Druid's other main weakness: Damaging AoE. I do realize that the original Ysera was like this too, but I think it was phased out with Ysera the Dreamer because it had a very gambly effect on whether or not it would be good (in addition to the fact that it wasn't that good of a card anymore).

    That really sucks. Unfortunately I don't think there's really an easy way to combat this. If it's any consolation, I do think your variation is quite a bit better.

    Caught me right at the tail end of making this post. I do quite like the simplicity of the card, which is something we probably won't see too much of in this comp, and as a result will likely make your card stand out. I'm not sure how strong it is, although I feel like some people may be a bit put off by how it's literally just Maiev Shadowsong as a spell.

    Applying the Dormant keyword to a weapon is quite smart, honestly, and the "revenant" flavor it has ties well with both Dormant and Deathrattle. My main question is… what would happen if you equip a weapon while this is Dormant? It's gone for good or what?

    As for your feedback, my intention was that the minion is exiled for a while. I mean, 2 turns is kind of a lot from a gameplay perspective. Obviously, if more people think like you I'll change its name.

    Main issue with these sort of cards is that they're very hard to balance. Also, I feel this concept would've been better as a Quest than as a minion.

    Gargoyles are the perfect fit for the Dormant mechanic, so you have extra points for that. I don't know which version I prefer, though. The second one is definetly more interesting, but as you say, it's quite easy that it'll never awaken.

    Simple card, but cool. I like that both the Battlecry and the Hero Power convey a similar flavor while not using the same mechanics.

    This sucks, but your card is better both mechanically and flavor-wise. Even with this, your card will probably reach finals and might even win the comp (personally, it's my fav card so far)

    Let's try again. This one is more a midrange minion for Warrior that may delay kills, but it occupies enemy board space for periods of time. Note that it won't take damage when making an enemy Dormant.

    This is still a downside. I would give him extra stats.

    Hopping in a tad late. I like the idea of playing around more with different Awaken triggers, so this is my attempt at that. It's also a cute play on 'Uncharged' since Rush is like Charge but not. For reference, Fel spells in Standard are Felosophy, Shadow Council, Unstable Felbolt, Imp Swarm (Rank 1), Fiendish Circle, and The Dark Portal.

    I'd consider putting Dormant and Rush in the same line for aesthetical reasons. Other than that, it's a nice enough idea, but the pool of Fel spells is pretty bad… Honestly, I'd keep the "uncharged"/Mech idea and rebuild from there.

    I'm a bit confused to be honest. The target goes Dormant instead of dying and then dies anyway? So it's really all about blocking board space and maybe delaying Deathrattles, right? Very creative approach, nice! It would obviously be better with Rush, but I see that the textbox is already full. Small sidenote: the art looks more like Runeterra than like Hearthstone.

    As I've already said on Discord, I like the simplicity and the flavor of your card. The Hero Power version is even cooler, the shifting gaze of the Basilisk is a genious idea! I really hope you come up with a way to make this happen.

    First of all, thanks for your kind words! Exile looks like a cool card to me. Like BasilAnguis said, bigger minions would bring more profit, but Paladin isn't really good at that, so I'd consider tuning the rarity down to rare.

    Thanks for your encouraging words! I've got to say that I love your idea for this week. Deathrattle Hunter is my favorite archetype ever and The Dreadbow (not a bad name at all) adds so much value! The one request I have is that you give some detail as to how the card works when you submit it. Does it stay in your hand when it goes Dormant? If so, is it even possible to equip another Weapon after this? 5 stars from me!

    Im kinda confused about how this works, the ambiguity if the attack even happens due to the check for dying aside, im confused about "goes Dormant for 2 turns before dying", so it goes dormant and when it awakens it just dies?:D

    Hm, maybe you mean that the attacked minion would go dormant? but then the question still stands, is it gonna die instantly when it awakens or what?:o

    Yes, the awakened minion instantly dies, and it mentions that the minion "killed" by Gorgrong Brute goes Dormant. Could add "that minion" to the text.

    Effect is strong but has no immediate on board impact so seems balanced, maybe stats can be changed.

    ‘I like this art a lot and the little moons made me think of sleep/dormant magic

    @Neoguli, Honestly your card seems rather confusing, but I like the idea. I would change the trigger from killing a minion to just attacking it, which would simplify the text and give it a poisonous-ish ability. Also change it so that it just goes dormant for 2 turns then just wakes up, this would also simplify the card a lot, and it feels very counter intuitive to make a minion go dormant then immediately kill it. Why not just kill it right away? I also might not give it rush since then it is virtually the same as [Hearthstone Card (maiev) Not Found] only a rare instead of a legendary, which is fine, but something to keep in mind. You should also specify that the trigger happens after the attack so that it still has to take damage when it trades into things. I don't know if that is how it is intended to work, but that is the intuitive assumption so it should probably work like that.

    Should probably say "it goes Dormant for 1 turn", that being said, this is extremely win more card, if you are winning, just drop this and you literally get a free turn over your opponent at least, unless they have a way to remove this by spells, and 7 HP is pretty high. It would definitely be a card that does not work always, but if you were ahead, it would most likely just give you the win, not sure i like that.

    Still, it is a pretty weird mechanic, is it supposed to be anti-deathrattle, making them pop later? otherwise i dont see much benefit in it, i guess blocked board space is one thing.

    What if it was whenever you cast a nature spell, a random enemy minion goes dormant for 2 turns? Too strong? It's like a better board freeze but you have to give up card advantage for it. Maybe have 3/5 stats for 5 mana too since that is a strong effect.

    not sure if this competition is in regards to wild balance but in wild there is the 2 mana gain 10 armor card Bring It On! and seems like it would be very easy to awaken early. Also any warrior deck might play it just to thin their deck like Patches did which might make it too powerful. Maybe have some other card in the deck appear to replace it

    Not that much time to go, so here's some more feedback while the comp is still going.

    I know you've already submitted it, so any changes at this point is out of the question. I kinda like the card, although it is a really weird card which might cost you some points. I imagine many will admire the creativity though.

    I do agree with Sinti with basically all of what he said in regards to the text and the effect. It's also a little bit strange given that Druid is not supposed to be good at removal, while this basically can remove anything they play, albeit temporarily, but it still doesn't feel very Druid-like. If it was maybe a Warlock card or something like that, then I think it would fit a lot better.

    New idea, one that I really like:

    Didn’t have much time this week for feedback, sorry. Here’s two quick ones:

    Neoguli: That is really strong for the cost. It’s a Yeti with Rush that potentially denies your opponent a board space. This is a 5 cost card, maybe even 6.

    Swizard: This is basically a ‘Freeze any minion played by your opponent”, just reflavoured. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I’m not sure how powerful it is. I’d make it have 6 health
