  • Bit on the fence if this is 2 or 3 stars, leaning on 3.

I had honestly forgotten that they were going to push a Divine Shield package for Paladin this expansion with Prismatic Jewel Kit. Even if you don't manage to hand buff it though, a 4 mana 3/5 with Divine Shield is actually rather sturdy, could get Blessing of Authority on curve. If you do get a Jewel Kit proc on this and have some durability left, then you basically have a Overlord Runthak ready to go.

  • Its a strong minion on 4 on its own, it gets better with rush, but I wouldn't count on that very often, given that there's simply very little that can actually buff it in hand.

But as a 4 mana 3/5 with a crucial divine shield, and in paladin as well, it cannot be understated how difficult it is to remove it. For that, this earns high marks from me. In fact, the only reason I can see for not including this into every paladin archetype in standard is simply because kazakus exists.

  • if only it wasn't a battlecry

  • Looks pretty decent even without the Rush - but buffed up and with Rush this is very good.

Overall i would say decent enough to see play.

  • Not enough support, Prismatic Jewel Kit is bad, Overlord Runthak and Invigorating Sermon are too late to play this on curve. 1 star unless it gets more support.

  • Handbuff mechanics just don't cut it. We've never seen a great deck that works off that philosophy. I guess it is a solid body but the rush just won't be consistent enough to count on.

  • I have a semi-viable Highlander deck in Wild with some synergy for this card, but I'm not really sure I want to slot this is in. Strangely enough, this might be a better fit in Standard if some more hand buff cards get revealed. And it's decent in Arena, even without getting hand buffed.

  • This is an obvious attempt at support for Prismatic Jewel Kit, but like most handbuffing card, isn't very good. Now, if this was a static "If this has at least 4 attack, this gains rush", it would be incredible. Kind of a fine line and Blizzard erred on the side of caution, and this card will pay for it.

  • Seems rather bland. If you can consistently buff it then it is a very solid 4-drop, but nothing more.

    • Quote From YourPrivateNightmare

if only it wasn't a battlecry

holy sh*t, I was thinking this can kinda work with Conviction but yeah, it is a battlecry.
2/5 since base stats + divine shield is not that terrible.

    • Totally agree. If you 'need' the hand-buff stuff to make it work, more often than not, it'll be a dead card in your hand.
I'll probably open about half a dozen of those on day 1 - that's how lucky I am ^^

  • We need to see more hand buff, and not good enough for wild most likely

  • Not a bad card even without the rush. Getting that though really makes this stand out. Solid card for sure.

  • Requires hand buff to be good, and I'm not sure what options there are for Paladin. Overlord Runthak maybe?

  • I don't know how often you'd be able to play this in curve with Rush, but it looks pretty darn good to me either way. It's a bit "win-more" I guess: as a 3/5 Divine Shield for 4 mana, just meh, but add both Rush AND an attack buff and it's great!

  • Seems decent. Some nice support for this handbuff divine shield paladin deck that we got teased because of Prismatic Jewel Kit. Also works well alongside Overlord Runthak. But im not sure how good that deck will be, i guess we have to wait to see some more cards revealed for it during the reveal stream i guess.

What i CAN already say is that it's hot garbage in wild, despite Handbuff Paladin being a very good deck. So why is it bad? Handbuff paladin prefers tiny minions like Skaterbot that can magnetize into big minions.

  • This is not that great... 4 for 3/5 Rush with Divine Shield if you are able to buff it before you play it?  It's a good idea, but it would have been better as a 4/5 that gained Divine Shield if it had 5 or more attack and had Rush out the gate

  • Could be decent.

  • More handbuff support. Paladin is getting a lot of everything.

  • one more reason for Libram paladin

  • Read it as Rush and Taunt.lol

  • So I think this card is meant to go in this new hand buff paladin with cards like Highlord Fordragon and Prismatic Jewel Kit. Sure you can buff it with Noble Mount as well, so it's not that difficult to get rush

  • Feels slighly on the weak side?

  • Might see play in Wild where handbuffing is better supported. However, the are better alternatives in Wild too, so I doubt this will see any constructed play at all.

  • Seems a decent card in a weird spot.

  • Solid card.

Too much Handbuff support... Not bad, but it already is a good deck in wild... it doesn't really need this much support.

  • Very good for handbuff, can kill something and live to attack the next turn

  • A decent card even without getting buffed to gain Rush, so it might see some play. Surely a good Arena card, at the very least

  • Actually pretty easy to get at least 1 extra Attack on this guy. Would obviously be way better if it was an aura rather than a Battlecry, but even then this card seems really strong provided you're running at least a couple hand buffs.
