Quitting HS

Hi everyone,
I am quitting HS as of today (already deleted the app) after playing the game since Goblins vs Gnomes.
Ever since Stormwind wild has not been enjoyable and this new expansion has not fixed it. I might come back to the game if they ever do address wild’s issues but it has been almost 5 months and nothing has been done.
Thanks to everyone who supported any of the decks I posted over the years.
Bye!

You're a stronger man or woman than me. I play because I still believe like an idiot this game can pull it together. Mostly out of habit ofc. Even Arena is awful now with all these boring honorable swill cards and other boring junk.
Hopefully they will turn it around in the next rotation and you'll find a reason to come back. Enjoy the other video games until then!

this is not a airport so no need to inform you leave
From whom should I netdeck my wild decks now?
I will miss your awesome deck lists and well-written guides! Good luck!
Hey, hope you find something else you´ll enjoy instead. I, for myself, just started to love this game again - right when I´ve stopped trying for legend and started to play for fun, win or lose. I do my 5 Ranked wins a week and then I play whatever I want. Right now I´m having fun chasing XP achievements in casual Duels, and I don´t care the slightest if I win with my silly decks or not.
I used to play this game like most of us - just for habbit, not enjoing it at all. I didn´t have the courage to stop then, but now I´m glad I didn´t. Just do whatever you like. Take care!

Ah fare theewell friend I shall join your departing ship as I really don't enjoy the whole "watch me win" meta either. So cheers to taking a break
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Take care my friend.
I'm struggling too, and to be honest I'm only doing the bare minimum for quest completion and even rerolling win 5 ladder quest.
I win 5 ladder games for the card back and even have to encourage myself to do that right now ....... 5 games in 1 month.
Will see how things go, and take a break/quit myself if I think it's the right thing for me too.
All generalizations are false.
Swizard has been a very active member in the community, posting many of the Wild decks on here and even creating site content such as the “Wildest Wednesdays” articles going into depth on a single Wild deck.
In this case, an announcement like this is not only okay but almost necessary! I personally will miss his presence here.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
ohw okay sorry my reaction was the indeed just rude sorry ,
got a little bit tred of i leave hs topics
At first I thought that there's a yet another Nightmare salty player decided to announce how they hate HS. But then I realized that Swizard is the author of this awesome deck. And then I realized that he's the author of Wildest of Wednesdays series. And now I'm really sad.
Hope that devs will be able to redeem wild in your eyes.
If more people acknowledged and apologized when making a misstep, the Internet and World at large would be a better place.
+1
All generalizations are false.
Sad to see you go, we will miss your articles!
I think many people felt similarly during Stormwind meta. As for me, I had many "low moments" while playing since 2016.
I reached Legend in Standard on EU in 2019, and Standard on NA in 2020.
This year, I just lowered my expectations. I just try to reach Diamond 10 or Diamond 5 for max amount of free packs from Ladder (important for F2P). And then play whatever mode I feel like :) or sometimes other games.
In my opinion it's not worth it to torture yourself to reach Legend every season.
What I think is best is that everyone needs a break once in a while. Hopefully you can come back after Blizzard makes some more adjustments to Wild! (might take months I know)
Thanks for all your work on articles, and hopefully see you in some time! Have fun whatever you choose to play instead.
late on this, but as someone who's played for a similar amount of time and is currently experiencing the same dissatisfaction with Blizzard's handling of the Wild format (not to mention their interesting workplace practices recently that have led to me going full free to play) I truly hope Blizzard will do something to help fix Wild soon. until that (hopefully) happens, enjoy your break! its been a joy reading your articles, and they've been my main reason for checking out the site every day, but regardless of whether or not you return to the game, thank you for the contributions you've made to the community nonetheless.
im just a little goblin fuck
THIS right here

This is terrible news. Swizard has been a major presence in our lovely Out of Cards community, and I've had plenty of fun matches and in-game conversations with him. You will be greatly missed, my friend.
Even more distressing is that the state of the game could be so bad as to drive away dedicated players like Swiz. Personally, I've also been very frustrated with how many things have been handled recently, but the game is still enough fun for me that I'm sticking with it. I sincerely hope Blizzard's approach changes soon, so they stop alienating and discouraging their players.

classic = no resource generation = great
I had become an in-game friend of Swizard before his "fame", after playing against him in Wild ladder ages ago, both using interesting decks. You know, the old way.
Don't worry mate, they will nerf or ban Hunter and Warrior questlines soon enough and you'll come back to us!
I've actually been having a lot of fun in Standard since the balance patch. I climbed to Diamond faster than ever on New Year's Day because I was enjoying myself and just kept playing. (Normally, I'm out after I earn the card back, if I even go that far.)
Sorry to hear Wild still sucks, but to me it's a little weird to put all your eggs in the basket that isn't making any money for the company.
I'm on my last legs with Hearthstone. Been playing almost every day since Kobolds. The Stormwind quests sucked a lot of joy out of it for me. Alterac has some fun decks but it's imbalanced and I'm sick to death of pirate warrior. Just playing a bit because it's familiar/habit etc.
Alterac is unironically the most balanced meta we've had in years. If this is enough to push you over the edge then yes, you probably need a break.
Also, PIrate Warrior (assuming you're talking about Standard) is easily the most exploitable deck in the entire meta and as long as you play a halfway decent ladder deck you can farm it like it's a crappy homebrew, it's that predictable. If the case is that you're playing Wild then...honestly I don't know how you made it this far, that place is a shithow.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
They didn't say they couldn't beat Pirate Warrior. They said they were sick of it. BIG difference. But it's not the game's fault that so many mouth-breathers can't find a better deck to play.
I definitely agree that the meta is pretty balanced at the moment. The prevalence of certain annoying decks is due to the player base, not the design team.
