Time to warp in minions like we're the Protoss :D I gave it to the Mage because it makes sense both in flavor and the practicality standpoint of "she's the least likely to abuse it". The numbers can always be tweaked; just need to know if this is interesting/cool/reasonable enough to work with.

Edit: This second version sounds cooler, in my opinion, although balancing it would be tricky.

First idea. It basically turns your HP into deal 2 damage and draw a card for three uses. I don't know if it's flashy enough for a legendary, though.

@linkblade You mean instead of paying Mana, you pay 1 Durability? If so, I think it's quite OP. I'd probably limit it to just the first minion you play each turn.

    EDIT: Added Horn of Cenarius.

Another crazy idea, but for this prompt I obviously wanted something unique.

Effectively gives you a Shifting Scroll that costs durability to cast. You can choose to attack and cast the spell; or save your durability. Kept it at 3 Mana because it has a slow payoff and is subject to RNG (for both spells and targets), but 4 would also be reasonable.

I'm on a roll with Warlock discard cards that summon Voidwalkers. Gaze can provide a lot of defense, but you of course still need to discard a lot of cards. Orb is kind of like a proactive Soul Mirror and can buy you some time against large Charge minions. 3 Durability might be a bit strong, but I feel that the amount of counterplay and Priest's inability to abuse weapons makes it alright.

Woo the time has finally come! Now watch me fail at my own comp idea :D

Ring of Purity was the first thing that came to mind. The jist of it is that it basically lets you "cleanse" bad effects like freeze or 'attack set to 1' from your minions without making you unable to buff them. It also lets you easily silence enemy minions, albeit by healing them slightly. Would play greatly into the buff priest fantasy and maybe make silence decks viable.

Saint's Skull is hopefully easy to understand. You cast lets say Power Word: Shield on an enemy minion. The weapon triggers and you get a discover screen with Power Word: Shield and two other spells of the same cost, lets say Holy Smite and Mind Vision. If you chose Holy Smite, instead of casting Power Word: Shield you cast Holy Smite on said minion. If you choose [Hearthstone Card (Mind Visions) Not Found], you play [Hearthstone Card (Mind Visions) Not Found] instead. The point of this is giving you great flexibility with your spells by offering unique new choices, if what you have is not necessarily for your taste. You can "re-roll" spells basically.

Ring of Strength is a nod to Titanic Strength in WoW. Thematically, you just carry more and more weapons in your hands xD. Weapon effects don't transfer, only the stats.

Play locket. Antonidas, Apprentice, Apprentice, Molten Reflections. What made Pocket Galaxy ok was the fact it was usually drawn after you drew half your deck, so it rarely affected all the combo pieces you wanted. This makes getting the minions before the discount source ok. I'm not sure you can balance this without allowing some big OP combo to happen. If you wanna do teleportation, what about a Big Mage style thing, like how Big paladin and warrior function. Recruiting i mean.

    Wailor
I like Red Grimoire, though the wording feels a bit off somehow. Horn of Cenarius is probably too OP. Not that hard to get a fresh wave of Wisps after Wisps each turn. Weapon removal is not something everyone runs, but they will for this.

    AeroJulwin
Really cool idea, i dig it. Though perhaps something like "Each turn Discover a new spell. After your hero attacks, cast it." would be cleaner.

    BloodMefist
Gaze of the Void is interesting, and kinda strange. I know Discard Warlock traditionally flood the board with stuff, but when i hear 1/3 Voidwalker with Taunt i can't help but think of control, and this card doesn't fit well in control. Might be just me though, it seems decently balanced. Maybe 3 durability instead of 4.

Orb of Dominion on the other hand seems super weak to me. It's essentially a stranger Mirror Entity or Explosive Rune. Suffers from the same issues of getting beaten by small minions, but without the bonus of doing face damage or getting a big thing (at best you get a very injured copy). And it lacks the surprise factor secrets have. And gets destroyed by weapon removal. Yeah, idk. Effect is in theme for priest by gameplay wise it's a big ol 5 mana do nothing.

    I'll boop you

Love this prompt, so many interesting ideas!

I like the minion support for Mage. The second one costs X Mana to get Y Mana to spend on minions only, which I kinda have a problem with, which is why I was a bigger fan of the first option. However, like Basil said both can very easily be abused, so I think you should go with Wailor's idea of it applying to the first minion per turn only.

With that being the case, I personally prefer the second option, since I don't like that the first one pushes you to play big minions to get your worth. The second option still rewards you for playing big minions, but if you play smaller ones, you can still use that durability later.

    Wailor
The Red Grimoire has a neat effect, but even though the payoff is slow, I think it's too cheap for the value it gives. As to whether it's flashy enough, I think it's probably fine, but it would also work was a minion passive.

Horn of Cenarius feels more Legendary. I think it scales well; it's a cheap card and you'll easily get some Nature spells in, but you won't have much use for it on-curve. It's currently a bit broken though. It's fine to refill your board twice or so for momentum, but summoning infinitely is insane.

    BloodMefist
Gaze of the Void is okay. It feels balanced and supports the archetype well.

I do prefer Orb of Dominion. Although it gives your opponent a bit of control over the situation, it's a great control tool and often gives you your Mana's worth, which makes it a great card for Priest. Worst case scenario, you destroy 3 small minions and prevent your opponent from playing larger minions for a turn or so. If you're worried about value, it might still be fine as a 4-cost since it's a slower payoff.

    BasilAnguis
I like Ring of Purity best. It provides a really nice upgrade for an otherwise lacking archetype. And just fits Priest very well in general. I do dislike that the effect needs to be permanent to be profitable, but can be removed entirely by tech cards.

Saint's Skull's effect is clear to me and I really like it. I'm a sucker for these kinds of utility effects that give you more options. However, it feels too strong to be in effect permanently. I don't think it should have limited durability, since you're already paying with your original spell. Maybe limit it to 1 extra option? That does makes it a lot worse, since the spells in your hand/deck are often the better option, so maybe just increasing the cost. Also, you forgot to capitalize Discover, although it's not exactly how discovering works, so maybe "look at 2 others" would be better.

Ring of Strength seems very abusable. Warrior has a lot of weapons it could stack up to get 9 or so damage a turn.

Basil makes a good point. I don't think people will like how unclean the effect reads and it was kind of unusual.

Added "to learn" so it's clear you don't actually get a copy of the spell. The Discovery gives you a lot more control over it, but I only increased the cost to 4 Mana because it takes multiple turns, target are RNG-based and the spells still Overload. Might still be too cheap, since you could get some bigger spells. Let me know.

Two new variations of Horn of Cenarius which I feel are more balanced and interesting.

I think I prefer the second version, but I'm aware many people are not fond of infinite effects like Aluneth or Skull of the Man'ari. Of course, suggestions about the mana cost or the Durability of the first version are welcome.

    I'll try giving feedback tomorrow.

As per the feedback, I incorporated the "first minion only" stipulation into the second version, then brought the cost of the Locket down. There's no way it needs to cost 9-Mana in this form.

    Feedback:

    Show Spoiler

Wailor - I prefer the 5-Mana Horn of Cenarius, the one without the Durability requirement. Wisps are beings of energy, so that's a good flavor-connection with unspent Mana. I don't think the weapon being "infinite" is too big of a problem, given you have to skip half your turn or more to fill the board up with Wisps. You've also kind of lost out on hero attacks, too, so you don't break the Horn. That can be a significant tradeoff, and helps to balance out the card.

AeroJulwin - That art is so cool, with the waves on the cover of the book. Nice find :) …I kind of just realized how much this spits on The Runespear. The Runespear is garbage, but this is that but blatantly better and costs half as much. My opinion of the card has been damaged by that realization, because otherwise your card is awesome :(

BasilAnguis - I'm not a fan of Saint's Skull for two reasons: A. It will completely bog down the game, 'cause the Priest will have to decide what to do after every every single spell cast; and B. You built your deck a certain way on purpose, so you're likely casting the spell you want to cast already. Ring of Strength can get abusive real fast, so that's a No from me. That leaves Ring of Purity, and while I don't like that you have Silence on the Hero Power (that's a big Fuck You tech against the Paladin), it does need a little something more to be an impactful Legendary.

BloodMefist - I don't find Gaze of the Void compelling, although the art and name are great. Maybe it's the Discard, maybe it's because it "only" summons Voidwalkers; I don't know. Orb of Dominion seems like it could be rather frustrating to go against, but it's the better card in my opinion.

Oh, you posted a new version while I was writing this XD

I think your later iteration is the best one so far. Alternatively, you could use a variation of the first version which makes minions cost 1 instead of 0 (and maybe it could cost 6 mana instead of 7)

    AeroJulwin
The last version you posted is very cool, but linkblade is right about it being a better The Runespear. That card was garbo, so I'd go with it anyways.

    BloodMefist
Both are cool, but I like Orb of Dominion a lot. Maybe it could depict a mirror instead of an orb, though.

    BasilAnguis
I think my favorite card is Ring of Purity (Silence Priest yay), but for goodness sake, change its name because it reminds me of this.

Saint's Skull is a close second for me. linkblade's criticism about consistency is kinda right, but considering you have to pay 5 mana for it I'd probably say it's not that big of a deal.

I really have nothing right now. Here's feedback.

    Linkblade91
Your latest version is definitely the safest and therefore will probably get the best score. It looks powerful without being too crazy.

    Wailor
I too prefer the 5-mana version. Dare I say it could possibly be 4 mana.

    AeroJulwin

I do realize that finding good art for this prompt is difficult, but I do the art could be better.

Otherwise, it's a much better Runespear that still unfortunately runs into the same problems that card does in terms of being unreliable.

    BloodMefist
Unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer Gaze of the Void personally. That's not to say anything bad about Orb of Domination because that card is still pretty solid.

    BasilAnguis
I think Ring of Purity is too convoluted and Saint's Skull is too impractical. Ring of Strength I think has the best idea but it suffers from a problem of being extremely good when drawn early and drastically dropping off the longer the game goes on for and it requires you to run a lot of weapons which is a bad thing.

So i came up with 2 new ideas, and i dropped Ring of Purity and Ring of Strength due to feedback.

Prince's Ring basically lets you automatically summon a 1/1 as a target for spells, letting you always have a way to play them. A Blessing of Kings will summon a 5/5.

Lute of Divinity is for buff priest, an archetype i dearly love but always sucked, no matter how many seemingly op cards it got. Perhaps a free recast of your spells would make it decent.

    I'll boop you

I think Prince's Ring is a worthwhile idea, although I'm not sure about the wording. Lute of Divinity and Saint's Skull are just not effects that should stick around all game.

Honestly, I think your should consider revisiting Ring of Purity. People, including myself, seem pretty positive about it. As linkblade mentioned, its main issue is the possibility to silence enemies whenever you want. A simple fix could be having your HP's silence only affect friendly minions.

If it being convoluted is a concern, perhaps making the first effect only apply to the HP makes it clearer: "Your Hero Power also Silences friendly minions it targets, but doesn't remove the effects of spells you've cast on them."

I created Tide's Memento with Shifting Scroll as inspiration, focussing on seeing your spell before choosing if and when to cast it. I totally forgot about The Runespear. It's definitely a problem, but at this point I'll just submit it.

I had a really hard time thinking of anything and it took forever to come up with something that I at least sorta liked, so hopefully it's good.

Demonxz95 - I'm not sure what the Scale has to do with Demon summoning from a perspective of flavor. This is a strong card if you can mulligan into it, getting it out quickly so you can ab/use the effect early and often. I think it could be okay if you lose the Demon tag because then you won't be able to apply additional synergies; they'll just be bodies. That being said, the main concern for me is that you're rewarding Handlock for doing what he already intends to do, so this is an automatic inclusion.

BasilAnguis - The text of Prince's Ring is problematic: I didn't get it initially (I thought you were literally turning the spell into a minion, like Blessing of Authority is a 5/8/8 or something). In the end it seems like a long-winded way to get around having to Hero Power first. Beyond that, I agree with AeroJulwin in-that the two Priest weapons are quite strong if they last the whole game. I personally would either tinker with Ring of Purity - like AeroJulwin said - or tinker with Prince's Ring, perhaps to do what I thought it did :) Something like "You can play targeted spells as if they were minions. When they die, they turn back into spells." a la Cannonmaster Smythe.

I just wanted to say it's a shame Chromie's Timepiece didn't make the cut. I really loved the card :C

Anyways, good luck to all other finalists.

Congrats to linkblade91 and Wailor! Looks like you folks didn't like my Tears of Salt very much :D

On a serious note, that finalists vote was ridiculous. Again. I'm still of the opinion that making the vote more complicated (= make voters rate categories) might help to avoid people spamming 1 or 2 star ratings.

I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?
