The meta will stay the same, minus ignite mage. If a deck couldn't beat ignite mage, it probably couldn't beat Quest Hunter or Pirate Warrior.

Odd Questline Hunter will go away, Ignite Mage will see less play, but Questline Pirate Warrior will stick around just as much. All Rogue archetypes lose power across the board. C'Thun Druid, Even/Mecha'Thun Warlock and Freeze Shudderwock Shaman will have less opposition and thus become more prevalent. Nothing changes for Paladin and Priest. Demon Hunter remains (almost) unplayable.

I am happy and expect to pilot Freeze Shudderwock Shaman to Legend again before the mini-set hits.

Why would Questline Hunter go away in a meta where it beats the most popular deck and every control deck?

Because Questline Hunter got nearly gutted. Rapid Fire was the best card in the entire deck. Now it costs double and it's even, so you either dont run it anymore in Odd Questline, or you try the non odd version which is significantly less burst, as the hero power only deals 2.

Any combo mage is gone, so all the slow controlish decks with no combo counter can crawl out of the pit. Mainly Big Priest who can handle warrior pretty well.

With Druid (mechathun and cthun), Shaman (shuddereock), and Warlock (even/giants/reno) we might get the first slow meta ever. These 3 classes were near the top before, now have no opposition from their biggest counters.

    I'll boop you

Odd Questline Hunter is about to lose it's highest winrate card Rapid Fire. This deck was already running jank tradeable cards. When more support cards get printed the deck might totally return, but for now it will drop down a few tiers and be unrelevant for awhile. As long as Defend the Dwarven District remains unchanged, it is only a matter of time before this archetype shines again, but hopefully not too soon™.

One thing to note is that the Warrior Quesline also got nerfed, specifically in the damage part, which can slow down the deck just a tiny bit.

Also edit that I don't think Mage is gonna die outright, because surprise surprise! Conjure Mana Biscuit exists. With one Biscuit saved for playing Molten Reflection on Sorcerer's Apprentice alongside Sanctum Chandler, while now a 10-mana combo (8 mana with Elemental Evocation), still makes Ignite Mage have some relevancy. Perhaps they may run Hemet, Jungle Hunter or opt for any source of mass card draw to get to guaranteed Ignite procs, or maybe even continue with the current list, but tech in Magister Dawngrasp for an additional Ice Block.

    Quote From doingtheobvious
The problem there is actually twofold. You have to re-engineer the deck entirely; Witchwood Piper no longer guarantees you pull Apprentice. You have to gamble with tradeable ad nauseum to get to her.

While gambling for her via Tradeable lotto has become the remaining option from what I tried to assemble, I've found Elemental Allies and a few Elementals in the deck to basically draw at least a 1/3 of all spells in your deck without running anything from non-Fire schools outside of Ice Block. And the additional thing is that Ignite's still going to be faster than Mozaki imo thanks to Evocation and Hot Streak, which lets you play the combo on turn 8 at least with reductions, as Mozaki + Apprentice is still 9 Mana without any prior reductions, unless I'm missing something.

Anyway, this is what I've come up with. I can still see other forms of card draw being present - perhaps resurrecting Aluneth could do the trick too.

I think the meta will evolve in a more healthy way overall. More decks should be playable again after Ignite Mage is killed and Quest Hunter is nerfed heavily. Quest PW will still be very strong, but there are enough cards to counter this deck (Nerubian + Crab).

I guess Even Warlock will be T1 again and maybe will be the best deck again.

    I see you!
