  • Mech Mage is back. Let's goooo

  • Missile Launcher for combo players

  • Imagine comparing unfavorably to Mordresh. Needs mech support then we can talk about it, otherwise it's just an Arena card

  • If the board consistently matters in standard again, this might see play, but even then this is too expensive at 8 mana. And why is this in Mage? This feels like a Warrior card at first glance.

  • I'm not seeing what Colossal does for this.

  • Looks ok ... ....

    Mech Mage comeback!!!!! .... maybe .... :)

Still not sure how colossal works ... but i guess this could be played because of the ability ?

    • @Hydrafrog: Well ... it summons three minions at once and gives them all an extra kick when they attack.

Yes, you could write a much longer text box to encompass all that, but that's the whole point of keywords. They shorthand complicated effects.

  • Should'a been 2 damage per swing, I think. While it might be balanced at a glance - hard to say without practice - it just doesn't feel powerful. Still, I loved Mech Mage back in the day, and I'm ready for its return!

I mean, Mechs are only a Warrior thing because Hearthstone deemed it so in the past; there's nothing sacred connecting the two of them together. If the Warlock can have Murlocs, then why can't Mage have Mechs? It's more natural for them to have it, anyway, given the Mechs are powered by magic.

You gotta consider that the effect applies to Mechs that are already on the board too

  • Mech Mage ?!

    Also, fluffy ^^

  • Very interesting card. It's basically a big removal minion, and also a finisher if you have a bunch of mechs already on board. Seems pretty good. It probably plays a similar role as Mordresh Fire Eye, however Gaia, the Techtonic can be generated by cards such as Azsharan Sweeper. Oh and if it survives a turn, remember that Gaia, the Techtonics text says "friendly mech" which means that it's effect also triggers after it attacks. Also mech mage might consider running Deeprun Engineer in order to either lower the cost of Gaia, the Techtonic or to discover one.

I feel like mech mage still needs some more support, but with cards like these it might actually see play. It looks like a very fun deck to play regardless!

  • Its obviously compares badly with modresh, but it does have one thing going for it: if you can consistently flood the board with mechs, this is just a finisher that has no other requirement other than drawing and playing it, something modresh doesn't necessarily enjoy.

The card can only get better as more mechs are revealed down the line. If magnetic, along with stuff like Zilliax gets back into core, then we might just have a winner here, even if modresh boast a superior effect, because the current wildfire mage is really just a combination of non-synergistic cards, of which mech mage may not suffer from.

  • So at least 2 damage to all enemies, plus 2 each to 2 minions, assuming there's minions to rush the drills into, but why would you play this against an empty board? Nice. Even better if there end up being other mechs that Mage wants to put in a deck.

  • Mech Mage, but also doesn't need to be in a Mech deck, since it summons some Mechs with Rush by itself. Could be very powerful if you already have a board of Mechs, but just with the two Arms I think this can be good enough to see play in a slow Mage deck that isn't running a whole lot of Mechs.

  • I think that based on the Mech Cards that have been released, there is just not enough support for a Mech mage to be competitively viable unfortunately.  However, if more support comes down the line, this card will be an excellent finisher/comeback card for Mech Mage.  You get rush, you get board clear, and you get a body left on board at a bare minimum.

  • Pretty nice board clear attacked to a Colossal minion with a guaranteed 2 damage AOE if your opponent has minions on board. Even mech printed with rush will be insane with this legendary going forward so I'm sure Gaia will see play with each new expansion release.

  • Turns Mech Mage Boards into dangerous threats, and they've probably nuked your board with a Mecha-Shark the turn before.

  • Very strong card, giving Mech Mage even more ways to clear the board and rack up more face damage. Will definitely see play!
