Compare this to Thing from Below. 4 mana more, no taunt, +3/+3 in stats. Sure it's a Totem, you can use totem-specific spells on it but still...that ain't a great comparison to a card that came out ages ago.

Totem Goliath cheated out fast = this things dropping even faster. Given that it is a totem itself makes this Wild deck more viable. Tac on that you can pop this into Even Shaman for even more hilarity
I love it on paper, but my god the support for its is poopy.
Unless we get a Stonewright tutor Totem shaman is garbage.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
The problem is that it forces you to either play totem shaman, or play Party Favor Totem, because there's no other realistic way you can play enough totems to get this cheap enough to be worth it.
And looking at the other support cards for totem this time round, I get the feeling that team5 really wants us to fit totems into the regular midrange and control shell, but very likely that is not going to work. So its aggro totem shaman or bust for this card.
Such a sad case because if Totemic Reflections was still in standard, this card is an instant 5/5.
I love it! Always loved Totem Shaman and even if the archetype isn't gonna be that strong im still gonna have fun with it :)
Also this could be cheated out pretty early.

I'd feel foolish giving a 0-mana 8/8 less than 4 stars, but I'm still skeptical about the Totem archetype.
This should be good if you can get this down to less than 5 mana, but I'm not totally certain on the opportunities to summon totems.
Standard: Still not convinced about totem shaman, it needs more support other than a highroll "play legendary on curve".
Wild: EVEN totem shaman will LOVE this card. And it probably also sees play in a normal totem shaman deck.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I hope totem shaman will see some play, but I think it will be on a next expansion because there is not much totem support in standard right now
