OMG it is hard to want more out of this card. Arcane Flakmage is still a staple in most Secret Mage builds. The idea that you could potentially protect this minion a turn or two to nullify or substantially disrupt your opponent's board is great. The only caveat is that (4) price tag to it. Hopefully, you'd get at least one shot at your opponent's board before it gets stomped into the ground.
I think an easier way to use this card is just turn 3 secret, turn 4 this card ?
You totally could, and I imagine that is the intent of the card. Given that it will automatically punch the board if there is a secret out though, makes it a prime hit for any deck that has minions.
Honestly really powerful. A continuous Consecration that also gets protected by the Secrets that fuel it is really powerful, especially now that we also have the Neutral Secret cheater that allows for better combos.
I could see Secret Mage being a thing, activating this on curve shouldn't be a problem and it can straight up lock out certain strategies.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Its decent, and probably what secret mage needs because very likely its going be playing from behind most of the time.
But its so much a downgrade from Arcane Flakmage, which can fire off multiple times, on whim. This card offers an AoE at the end of the turn, so if there's taunts you cant strike face.
But arcane flakmage isn't in standard, so what the hay. You'll play it in secret mage, because you can and this minion isn't bad.
As if Wild Secret Mage weren't already obnoxious.
I'll just use Robes of Protection and have a board wipe very turn.
With Invalid Deck ID in play, I can see this sticking against heavily minion-based decks. Also, the damage goes face! That's a 4-star card, for sure.
I don't know if Secret Mage will be back in the meta, but this looks like a very nice card for it that could do a lot of damage if they can't kill it or clear your secrets quickly.
This seems very good. Turn 3 secret into Chatty Bartender seems good. But you can also Anonymous Informant and then play Chatty Bartender + secret on the same turn. This seems good in standard. In wild i'm not sure. They already have a 2 drop that deals 2 dmg to all minion each time they cast a secret which seems better to me. However that card doesn't go face, so im not sure.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
If it doesn't come back in standard, you can at least be certain that its get added to Secret Mage Wild lists - this card is way too good to pass, and becomes must kill else can't build your board kinda deal.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Just another good tool for secret mage in wild, making an aoe every turn while this is alive. Strong card imho
I missed the fact that it hit the face at first, that makes it a bit better. I'd prefer Flak Mage over this, but there could be lists that run both for the redundancy.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Solid card, given how many Secrets Mage has access to. It hits face too, so that's a plus.
