Well we no 3 Relics so far if i remember correctly - they are ok but so far i personaly am not a fan of the Relic theme for demon hunter. Nonetheless, this seems decent tough!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
The Relics really seem to be lackluster. They look alright, but nothing too game changing. That being said, dropping a minion that will get you a few 1/1's, draw a few discounted cards, and shoot at an enemy minion doesn't seem to be a bad thing in the slightest. If you have cast at least a couple(2) of Relics, you're looking at paying 8 mana for:
1) An 8/8 fatty,
2) Draw two cards discounted by (2) each,
3) Shooting an enemy minion for 4 damage
That really seems like a pretty good deal honestly. The more I look at it, if you are able to bring a good support package to the table Relic DH could be a pain in the ass to play against.
This could be good, but so far this is a 9-card shell (3 relics, Xy'mox + the location) meaning that you need something around this whole package to make it work, and it doesn't exactly synergize with Fel.
On paper this sounds somewhat weak, but when you actually play it late enough this will draw you two cards and basically rduce them to (0), kill a random minion and summon to beefy boys (which would probably range between 6/6 and 8/8).
The main problem is how awkward the relics are to play before that, even though the location might help in that regard since you can use it to get some serious discounts or a solid board.
At the end of the day this lives and dies by the control tools DH gets with this expansion, because right now they can't really play the long game all that well.
Maybe it wouuld make for a decent renathal deck
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Given DH's tendency to receive token stuff like Battleworn Vanguard, and one of the relics summons 2 Fleeting Spirits in the first place, I don't think it'll be that hard to get Xy'mox Infused unless you literally top-decked him. As Hydrafrog pointed out, with the Relics improving the future relics, Xy'mox frequently becomes an absolute value bomb.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Its probably not too hard to get this infused by turn 8, and honestly even uninfused this card isn't really all that bad.
The main challenge is whether dhunters can actually even support a relic-heavy deck and what the end game actually is. In my opinion, its probably supporting control dhunter, probably with Sire Denathrius end game. Whatever the case, where even two relics are included this card would probably be in that deck.
With the relics, dhunters are only one cheap AoE away from being truly tier 1-2
Is the casting order fixed or random? I'm assuming when the first relic is cast, the second one is improved, and the third one gets improved again. And of course they start with whatever improvements they got from past relics. The order the casting happens in might have significant impact on how good the card is.
The order of relics that Xy’mox casts is in fact random, and each one does benefit from the previous ones in the battlecry (in the example video, the battlecry alone pushes the three cast relics from 6->7->8)
This could be good considering all the Relics have improved effects after each use. By 8 mana, you've probably already used 2 Relic Vaults on different Relics already.
Very similar to Jace Darkweaver where you've probably won the game if you managed to infuse Xymox and have already cast a bunch of Relics.
Edit: Also, DH will probably be the easier class to Infuse due to all the 1/1 rush Illidari... in wild seeing as Standard only has Coordinated Strike
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
I'm looking forward to experiment with DH's Relic.
Plus, that silly flavor text killed me :
"The anticipation to use this relic is killing me! Though, it will more likely kill you."
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
A 4-star legendary to top off a 4-star package. It looks fun, actually, but it's too fiddly to fully compete with some of the other stuff we've seen.
There's a world in which Xy'Mox will shine and make for some excellent highlights, with 4 more expansions to possibly support the relic package on the way, and most likely at least one more relic to come in the mini set, my hopes are high.
It looks quite powerful on its own, and when Infused... oh boy, fun times! Would be nice to see more relics in the future, though.
I think the relic are ok, the problem comes with the draw and infusion part. If played without infuse it's not too strong at all. And if you manage to combo it wih Brann Bronzebeard is just very powerful. Hope it seems play
This seems deceptively weak, but is actually pretty good. It's mana cheat, board presence and removal in one, and a big body as well. The only problem i see with the relic package is that it seems a bit slow, while DH likes going turbo SMOrc. But still i think it will see some play, as the package might fit in future archetypes and now that i think about it, maybe some kind of BIG DH might appear, thanks to the support from this relic package.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
