Now ofc you would want to discard this card instead of playing it, much like Hand of Gul'dan. This card will see play if discolock lives again in Standard.
As for wild... well that's another story...

No idea if this is any good but I love it as a concept. Finally tempo Discard is back
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Standard: This seems interesting. This seems really good in this discardlock deck that there trying to push. However it's also a shadow spell, which means Tamsin Roame shenanigans are possible. Thanks to 1 Runed Mithril Rod proc you can Tamsin Roame + 2x Soul Barrage into another 2 free Soul Barrages. Still i'm not sure how good that it, considering there are way better combos in warlock.
Wild: Discardlock will probably use it. I'm not that familiar with discardlock, but i feel like free FACE Dmg will be quite good in a aggresive deck. Pretty sure Fist of Jaraxxus still sees play in that deck? I feel like Soul Barrage might be better? Or they include both for more damage.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Looks like Disco-lock have lots of potential this time, plus with the reverse Tracking, AKA Scourge Supplies - allowing you to chose what you discard - it makes this even more reliable

Its not a good card, and very contentious in discolock, because you cant guarantee the damage into any specific target, and the way this card work you cant even guarantee when this thing comes out, which misses the whole point of removal options in that it needs to be consistent. Imagine dropping this out early without any minions, and deal 6 damage to face with no follow up. Might as well not even have the card to begin with.
The sort of card that will be dropped because of consistency, not necessarily power level.
Well, I don't think this is going to be the next Hand of Gul'dan. Still, discarding is free, and 6 randomly split damage for free seems alright. Paying 5 mana for two Arcane Missiles seems insane.
...You know, with Tome Tampering, not only will it give us a 6 damage burst, but also a 1 cost copy in the deck for later.
