My heart is always with AOE2. However, after a long year passed, we can finally play this game on Steam next month. Are you hyped for AOE1? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Bought both of them a week or so ago... I cant wait to try them... Moved all the way from south america to europe and my pc still hasnt arrived T.T
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
I bought both of them, too. Although AOE1 is nothing if compared to AOE2, I always loved ancient history so I enjoyed every single bits of AOE1. DE might have issues here and there, but hey, despite the laziness of devs, game is at least a playable state if compared to first launch. I only hope devs took their lessons from AOE1:DE to not let same issues occur on AOE2:DE.
Age of Mythology needs a serious reboot. And I wouldn't mind if they added Aztec/Mayan mythos or, if miracle allowed (unlikely in today's political climate), the Hindu pantheon (do we know enough of the Mesopotamian gods and creatures for a faction?).
I bought the Asian expansion on Steam sale last year but it crashes constantly and refuses to load at times.
I wish someone would make a game like Empire Earth 2 or Earth 2160. Not EE3! That one sucked.
Yeah, I agree. I enjoyed playing EE1 and EE2 but definitely not EE3.
I'm in for AoM2 or whatever but recent patch (2.7) actually solved lots of performance issues. I advise you to check it out.
Nope, no change. Still crash to desktop.
/still have the AOM cds somewhere
That's weird. For most of people, patch 2.7 really solved lots of issues. I'm sorry to hear that your problem hasn't been resolved. Even my FPS has been increased to 60 with all options enabled or maxed out. Using a laptop with Nvidia 940M graphics card integrated btw.
Also, nostalgia all the way ✌
Found my problem with Age of Mythology. Apparently, if you have it selected at the wrong display size or windowed mode, it crashes constantly. However, I didn't know about alt+enter mentioned in the video to force it to windowed mode to fix the resolution.
Did two of the Chinese missions so far and it didn't crash.

I would be super excited for a nice RTS autumn with AoE2:DE and (hopefully) Warcraft III reforged, but I'll be damned if I'm switching to Windows 10 just for AoE2:DE. Microsoft is being a real asshole as a platform holder. Instead of trying to get their product in the hands of as many excited players as possible, they're essentially using it as yet another tool to try and coerce people to switch to this hellspawn of an OS. So no AoE2 for me, I guess.
Or, even better, use dual-boot like me: I have a laptop that has both Win 7 and Win 10. For oldschool games or watch videos/movies on Internet without hassle thanks to lowest amount of background processes and low bandwidth usage, I use Win 7. However, if you prefer modern features or play modern games, in our case: AOE2:DE, I prefer Win 10 thanks to Directx12 and other stuff.
Used to love AOE2, but I moved to civ 6 a few years ago, and have 0 regrets, I love modding and making more accurate civilizations that portray history (nazi Germany, early America, and early 1900 Nordic countries being my favourite mods atm)
