Smug Mode!

Hi all. Feeling quite pleased with myself this month, as I resisted the urge to dust Bwonsamdi, the Dead when I was given her/him/it as my free legendary at the launch of Rastakhan's Rumble. Over the last few weeks, the card has gone from dumpster tier to a core card in combo priest, arguably the best deck in the game atm.
Does anyone else have any smug tales of duff cards they've resisted the urge to dust, only for them to become extremely useful long after their release? Or are there cards sitting in your collection right now, which you're hoping will one day prove their worth? I'm still holding out for that Harbinger Celestia meta...

May all your legendaries be golden.
Can you explain why it's a core card?
Not hating on your brag post, not dusting it was a good choice it is a great card. I am just questioning it's place in this deck.
I have been playing the deck since yesterday and have found it to be waaay too late in the game to require it. I did modify some cards from the core deck and now can win or make people concede by turn 7/8 pretty frequently.
No problem mate :)
As I see it, it works in a similar way to Subject 9 in Highlander Hunter. It's a mid to late game card that draws all your early game, so that a) your hand gets refilled and b) your deck is thinned out, making your future top-decks more useful. Admittedly, sometimes by the time you play it you've already drawn all your early game, but at the very least it's a 7:7 body that needs to be removed, and can potentially be used to divine spirit / inner fire your way to victory.
Plus, just look at him, he's a total badass!
May all your legendaries be golden.
Right ok I see, thanks for explaining that.
I still don't think he is worth it based on that but this is just me.
Not really, except I was glad I resisted the urge to dust my Golden Dr.Boom, My first pulled legendary from Boomsday, and Dusted him when he received his "Nerf". I don't play warrior at all and almost every 1st legendary or free legendary I've ever pulled has been Warrior. /sigh.
Still have a golden Duskfallen Aviana, but even though the card probably won't ever be useful, it feels like a special trophy since probably close to no one is stupid enough to keep a golden copy of this card. :p
Other than getting a golden Dr. Boom I feel you man. Most of my freebies are Warrior aswell, and it's my least liked class..
This has been me with priest! Chameleos, cloning gallery, lazul, bwonsamdi, the list goes on. To be honest though, I have no strong class affiliation, and generally play decks geared towards legendaries I unpack, but until combo priest arrived in the meta, it's been hard to do much with the priest legendaries i have.
Having said that, i do enjoy playing my janky thief priest deck every now and then, but I don't think it's going to be bothering the meta any time soon.
May all your legendaries be golden.
Still have my golden (!) Harbinger Celestia - touché!
And I am still waiting for my Lucentbark to shine ;-)
I’m glad I never dusted my golden Hemet Jungle Hunter, makes for some really fun games with Hakkar and Benedictus. Best part is, just about no decks run any way of getting rid of the Corrupted Blood. Zentimo’s another fun one, since playing him with a Hex is great. Was tempted to dust him since I didn’t play Shaman at the time.
Theres a good few I have that I do hope become at least somewhat viable later on, though I really doubt most of them will
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
I had pulled the Talaram Prince 1st day of KotFT and got really sad with it. Then cubelock appeared.
About cards I hope get some play, even in wild, Nozdormu and Moorabi, high hopes on those 😁
that's lucky FuRenz. when kft released I got taldaram as my first legendary on both my accounts and de'd him immediately. roll on a few months and im sure you can appreciate how annoyed I was with myself. never de'd a legendary since.
I feel your pain, primus. I learned the same lesson after de-ing Hadronox during the first few weeks of kft :/
May all your legendaries be golden.
Smug tale, you say? I've never had one (always had to craft the good stuff), but I have a lot of bad boys that I hope will have their time to shine in the future: Blackhowl Gunspire (yeah, it's a cad), Zentimo, Krag'wa, the Frog, Captain Hooktusk, Oondasta (it appears that Rastakhan's Rumble has a lot of unused Legendaries: who would have guessed it?) and, upon all, Countess Ashmore aka lesser The Curator.
Please just one comeback. Just one.
Spice Lord and self-proclaimed Meme Master.
Prince Keleseth. I opened him TWICE when KotFT launched. I dusted him the first time because modt of the community was like: “Princes bad lol”. Opened him another time and was really pissed, but resisted the urge to dust him because I wanted to try meme it up with him.
Lo and behold META DEFINING CARD.
This ain't no place for a hero
I didn't dust my golden Wardruid Loti when it was shitty. Now it's a 4/6 minion that has all.
I get a lot of hate on forums when saying "don't dust any legendary card, ever" it can re-roll being a bad card, it's always a waste of dust and eventually will have some op use down the line. (Except Blackhowl Gunspire , I totally forgot that was a card and that I have it, thanks @Avalon!)
People always say that they need dust for the meta decks and whatnot. I have to send this link next time, or new players to understand the regrets they are incurring in.
Hey all.
Just necroing this thread to see if anyone has any cards, particularly legendaries, stagnating in their collection that have been thrust into the limelight by the DoD meta.
For me, the biggest turnaround for me has been in my use of this guy:
He's always been a great card, but I think this is the first time control warlock has been a competitive decks since before witchwood was released. Currently having a blast using him in the vs control galacrond warlock list.
Does anyone else have any cards that haven't previously seen play but are shining in the new meta?
May all your legendaries be golden.
Deathstalker Rexxar as my free DK from the KofT-Adventure. Wasn't too thrilled when I pulled him, but you guys probably know how that turned out.
And now, I'm waiting for some Priest-Legendaries to become better. Like Madame Lazul or Chameleos...or Galakrond..

Got a golden Nat Pagle from a pack once and never have dusted him despite being nearly useless. Kinda wish I had a deck to play him in just because. Really don't see him getting any play though.
I laughed.
I see you when you're sleeping; I'm gone before you wake
I'm not as good as turn 4 Barnes; But I'm at least a Twilight Drake
