Weird tech card for its tribe for sure. Pirate decks tend to be aggro/tempo, not controllish. But I liked where this is going.
Keep it up Team 5. Show them Pirates have brains too!
Ah but, this effect should belong Harrison Jones flavour-wisely. What a missed opportunity...
Been waiting for something like this for a long time
Put this in kingsbane to counter people who use it to counter kingsbane.
In some decks, this might actually replace Harrison Jones. If you want the weapon more than the card draw, or the pirate tag is useful.
This is a fun piece of weapon removal if I have ever seen one. Not sure if you would rather Harrison , I guess that depends on the weapon meta. But you can have two, Also could be combined with the Rogue plague card, and then you are the only one holding a poison dagger. Probably not good enough turn 7 play , but this card has possibilities. Also I assume as long as you haven’t attacked yet you can steal and swing in one turn, so that could be a big tempo gain. I like it !
Best weapon removal tech you could imagine
It was and is Gluttonous Ooze for me tbh.
This is better for midrange decks.
Yeah, the two are close calls. When you think of the additional value that the kobold gives you by being able to TAKE the weapon, you seriously can say it's worth the two extra mana cost... In wild, at least... There aren't many great weapons to snatch in standard at the moment.
Kingsbane is dead with this card. 🤣👍
Should be a legendary, people are gonna complain because of the "steal" part at least should be copy, like thoughtsteal nerf
I mean, if Kingsbane ever gets more support again this card will keep the deck in check. I don't see very much use for it currently, but it's probably good for this card to exist for the future.
Good tech card with the upside of the Pirate tag. I don't think it's going to be all that necessary in standard (for now), but it could have a small impact in wild. It's main use is against "infinite" weapons like Kingsbane and Val'anyr. The fact that this is an epic card makes it a little expensive as a tech option, but cheaper than Harrison Jones. But ooze gets the job done for free against most weapons so... This is a real niche card. Designed for very specific purposes.
Good card? Probably not. Funny card? Definitely.
If it doesn't equip it then its not as good as just destroying it. You don't wanna waste handspace. Sure it'll get destroyed if your hand is full, so then its basically Harrison Jone .
Wow dude, you heavily overestimate the value of handspace....
This is wrong for 2 reasons:
- if played in a pirate deck, i can’t Imagine handspace ever being relevant.
- if played in a control deck, this card can generate extra value without drawing a card. And a weapon is a great control tool that can be played with spare mana, independed of the board state. And you will have spare mana when hand Space becomes relevant.
This is Bruno Bucciarati's favorite card.
I like it, even though I really don't know if it would be used
Rip Wild Secret Mage, this is a really good aluneth tech
Lol, no. Literally any weapon destroy card is a better tech against Aluneth than this. And none of those cards have stopped the deck, so this card definitely won't.
If you have your own weapon to override Aluneth after one or two turns, it's a good steal. Otherwise, Aluneth is going to fatigue you in no time. The only reason Aluneth is any good is that it's played in a deck full of cheap burn spells, so the opponent dies before the Mage does.
