Unfortunately the reveal video doesn't show if the eggs are deathrattle, my guess is they are not in which case this card isn't extremely powerful if the eggs can be traded off by your opponent.
Obviously the battlecry could be quite nice with Shudderwock, and the eggs are effectively 0/3 taunts because you definitely do not want them to hatch.
Could see play but if there is counter-play to the eggs hatching, then this card doesn't seem to be that powerful.
worst case 6 mana heal for 6 with a 5/5 or best 13/13 stats its pretty cool card, me like it!
Coin go... brrrrr
The video shows a thunder bolt below the eggs. Its start of turn effect. Theres no skull of deathrattle
Am I missing something or is this just a bad card? The card doesn't have an immediate effect for 6 mana, the eggs are easily clearable and even if they remain on board you still can't go face with them the next turn. Also this doesn't really synergize with anything yet so I don't see why anyone would play this.
Dissapointing if you ask me. Two 0-3s on turn 6 are usually easy to clear, also (Quest-)Shaman can do more for less, even after Evolve rotates back.

i dont know... maybe a bad card if eggs don't have deathrattle or an ok card if they have...
Shaman want big boards. This card gives them that. So it's a nice one I think. Time to let go of those pesky murlocs and embrace the true power of the force, I mean dragons.

I call trash legendary. Would hate to get this from my packs.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

i love it, lot of potential for sure
The Rush minions for Shaman are quite good cards, but I can't say the same for this yet. This card as a whole looks pretty slow, but it either gives: a) a wide board if all the minions survive, b) board refill if only the eggs survive or c)removal via the hatched rush minions. The one-turn delay of the hatching really dampens the power level of this card
Well it's over
Seems like 6 mana do nothing... But it's a dragon I guess. Doesn't feel like it will make dragon Shaman a thing, and Shudder has better battlecries to use
Looking bad for me, but can be good in new aggro sham. Board builder. Maybe midrange sham will use it, but looks like worst class legendary dragon so far.
Trash card.
0/3 eggs will not survive unless shaman gets some kinda of Frost Nova.
By The Holy Light!
d) nothing if nothing survive
At this point Explodinator has more value. It's cheaper, has magnetic synergy, bombs can be bloodlusted next turn and in worst case deal 4 face damage.
What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?
A credit card.
Interesting card. If the opponent cant clear the whole board, they have to decide to remove the eggs OR the 5/5 dragon. Maybe the eggs can function as soft taunts to protect smaller things?
Never netdeck, craft Whizbang instead!
This Battlecry stuff for Shaman is now getting out of hand. With CTW this will summon 4 eggs. Not going to bother with Shudder because he will be gone in April.
It is a soft taunt for control shaman. It is a well balanced card that brings some nice value to the player.
Shaman decks like to go wide on the board, but this is super low impact on 6, and the payoff can be destroyed by your opponent without mic work. Maybe there’s a Dragon Shaman deck that wants this, but it’s a bit clumsy.
this is pretty trash, compared to the other dragons. idk maybe it's good enough to run if dragon shaman ever takes off?
That is a lot of stats. A little slow but the eggs will work as soft taunts if nothing else. Better in Arena where board clears are more uncommon?
Not a Deathrattle, so not good. If you have mega taunts and your opponent doesn't have any spell removal, maybe. Shaman seems to be getting slow Control tools, a slow-but-potentially-high-value Legendary (Bandersmosh), and good removal in DoD. Maybe it can play a slow enough game that this card can contribute to that Control/removal strategy.
Not sure what deck should include this card. Seems a bit underwhelming effect, but it may fit in some tempo decks
In my opinion this is just bad. Eggs without deathrattle effect may be traded for free, and if your opponent does not have enough minions on board to deal with them then:
a) if they are aggro/midrange/tempo -> you probably already won, no need to play this
b) if they are control -> they probably don't care too much/have tools to deal with it even after hatching
It's a weird case.
It's less bad than it looks, but it's still kind of pointless.
If you play this on an empty board (or a board you just traded into) you're most likely going to get some serious value out of it. 13/13 worth of stats for onlny 6-mana is pretty good and since they have rush you're not really wasting a turn (unless you're playing aggressively)
On the other hand, you can never just play this onto a board where your opponent can just trade into the eggs. At best it'll let you avoid some face damage or cause unfavorable trades for your opponent.
It's not as bad as Warlock or Druid's legendary dragon, but it just doesn't really seem like something you'd actively put into your deck....which is where Draconic Lackey comes in. It might not be a good card, but it's a decent thing to just drop on curve in a Quest Shaman deck if you have nothing better. Quest Shaman is a deck that has decent recovery and can afford a turn of bad tempo for a bigger swing later on.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Possibly has uses in Battlecry Shaman, but the tokens honestly should have gotten Charge.
The Rush dragons cannot go face the turn they are summoned, so... eh.
-=alfi=-
I mean it's quite strong. In most cases at least one egg will survive.
ill say it's bad but still better than what it looks.
it not easy to do 11 damage split between 3 bodies on t6 unless if your opponent is aggro deck or use a boardclear on this. it might be easy to do 6 damage on t6 but but harder to split it without multiple card or board clears. at worse if the aggro deck and doesn't kill you its a 6 mana 5/5 battlecry restore 6-10 health or give you 1-2 4/4 with rush.
I think it bad because i think it will be to slow, and is in fact the best used right after your opponent use a boardclear with no minion in the same turn.
But it's in that weird space where I won't be surprised if it's good.
The idea of HS is to rotate the top tier classes, so yeah, give a shaman a break and let it sink in tier 3 or 4 for a while.
They'll still have murloc shaman if you're not tired yet of playing with or against them.
Bring back old Warrior Control.
Interesting, but not great. May be efficient in Quest Shaman since it will fill the board with these eggs that will direct attention from the opponent. May be useful.
I wanna like this card because shaman is my favorite class and shaman legendarys are rad. But I am not too confident that this will be a good card. You can use this as a way to soak up removal, or you will play him simply because he is a dragon, but after turn 6, it is just too easy to deal with 0/3 minions. They are basically 0/3 taunts, and when you think about it like that, I guess it is not too bad. With cards like evolve or the storm bringer, getting 3 bodies for 1 card might have some merit. But overall, this seems pretty weak for 6 mana, but if I open him I will try to make him work.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Looks bad, but I wouldn't underestimate two 4/4 rush minions, it can kill any 8/8 minion like Lich King and Ragnaros.
Though I can't rate it since it has a new mechanic in the game, but I have high hope in this card in terms of playable, including that shaman will have deck based on dragons and we don't know what other dragons the class has.
On an empty board turn 6 its pretty had to clear counters any minion up to 13 health next turn. We still dont know shaman Galakrond is, we will see
The card we all needed in Moorabi shaman... More seriously this card seems really slow, thus bad.
Elders Scrolls : Legends / Runeterra
Board swarming, token generating ; For DoD, Shaman ain't changing much ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
This card I'm sure is going to create some very disparate opinions. The card itself just as is on the surface is pretty bad. Its a 5/11 for 6 that is especially weak to AoE. There are other factors to consider though. Its a Dragon, its a Battlecry minion, and how game states generally play out. The Dragon part only matters somewhat, but it might be just good enough in the Dragon decks to see play. The Battlecry part matters even more, because of the quest and because of Shudderwok. Lastly we have the way games actually play out. If you're not just dead when you play this, its basically a 5/5 and 2 0/3 Taunt minions, because if you're opponent can't/doesn't deal with those eggs its going to get really out of hand. When you combine all those things, I think that card is better than it looks. Maybe not as completely game breaking as some of the other cards we've seen, but Shaman isn't a weak class atm either.
To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the women.
Good stats for board but easily removed..we'll see..a lot of times these "trash" cards ends up becoming mvp in the meta
Mana cost of the eggs is crucial. Evelution is only use of this card.
Wait .. so if the eggs are killed they don't summon nothing? So this is baaaaaad ..
I'm sorry for my bad english :)
Dragon enabler at best.
Not so terrible, but the eggs not having a deathrattle but only a trigger effect is a great limit to how much it will see play.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
Not to shabby but it's slow, like others have mentioned this is mostly to buy you time versus aggro decks.
Versus a control deck it can be more useful tho, i have experienced plenty of matches where control decks do very little a couple of turns in a row especially in the early to mid game.
So if you are able to drop this on curve and the control deck might not have an answer in board presence it gives you a really strong turn 7.
And might make them feel the need to use a boardclear.
Quest Shaman REALLY getting insufferable now! Turn 8 Eggpocalypse.
Assuming those eggs don't have Deathrattle maybe it's manageable.
Very underwhelming. The eggs have to live to get value, and it looks like the hatched drakes can't go face when they hatch.
One of the worst legendaries of the set for now, but this is going to change in the case the effect of the eggs will be revealed to trigger even if they die.
This card is ok. If Nithogg had some better stats it wouldn't be as mediocre since your opponent would be kinda forced to attack the eggs while leaving a big dragon alive, but Nithogg is a 6 mana 5/5 unlike Veranus that has much better stats and a better immediate effect. Nithogg is underwhelming but could still see some play just to be able to activate Lightning Breath and you could see it as a 6 mana 5/11 that has the potential to become a total of 13/13 in stats on turn 7.
More dragons? Yes please!
Nithogg can be played in aggro, but I dont think so :( On the arena is pretty good
Slow and all you get for protecting some small eggs are a few bodies, probably not worth it really
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
This is a very interesting point right here. With the quest completed, it's 4 eggs, not 2. It's a lot harder for the opponent to clear 4 eggs. I could see this working in Battlecry Shaman quite well
Seems like a win more card is some situations but still decent with Corrupt the Waters
I would have to see the other Shaman cards, because this is a bit of an odd duck. Sure you can pair it with Corrupt the Waters, but is it worth the effort? I don't know yet.
Right niow it looks controversial to me. The 13-13 stats we can get for 6 mana are very good. But the card is slow and we come to the same question as usual - will we be able to play this card and survive? I think it may find it's place in some decks especially after the next rotation in April. And it may get some support in future expansions. And yeah, a good card for arena =)
Seems likes it works pretty well with CTW......it will make 4 eggs
It is a wierd card for sure, but i am certain the card will see some play in the future, if not in this meta. The card has alot of space to grow.
I don't think this card can see play in currently played Shaman archetypes, but we haven't seen the Galakrond for the class yet. Maybe this card will be amazing there.
Very cool card. Perhaps Aggro Dragon shaman will be viable
If the eggs hatches the stats of this card are insane for 6 mana, key part is "if".
Even if your opponent have the decision to clear the 2 0/3 or clear the 5/5; he clears the 0/3s so his minion don't get damaged, in the end the 5/5 stays alive one turn...it doesn't feel that having a 5/5 survive is a big punish.
Seriously, in that case is like having played a 6 cost stealth tiger.
This card is very good if played on a clear board or when you are ahead, maybe in shaman deck that will happen so frequently that this card will be worth it, for now i doubt it.
Since they are eggs, will they also hatch if damaged? I'd hold off on a definite score for this card depending on that answer. If they are 4/4s either way, then this is really good. If not, then it's still decent, but less impressive.
Pretty underwhelming card imo. It's slow and the eggs are easy to kill off before they hatch. At least Shaman doesn't get to much OP stuff this expansion.
Was really excited for shaman but this card was a huge dissapointment.hope the galakrond is better since its fre
This card will surpise many of us. Dragon cards are widely associated with either midrange or control decks. Assuming shaman to run the later due to their many boardclears available, this card will become a hard choice for your opponent to either kill them and loss a turn where he's not killing you, or ignore them and assume he also lost the board next turn. It won't be gamebraking, but since its a dragon it will have a home in those decks and will become on more control tool for shaman to abuse.
The card looks good but it's pretty slow for the current meta, don't know about its playability.
I'm just not seeing this being overly impactful. We still need to see a lot of Shaman revealed, but right now If this is all the "dragony bits" they get I expect this will be a dead card.
modest compared to what we've seen so far, but tbh shaman doesnt need much more atm. its legendaries in standard are all pretty strong
Can only see this being played in battlecry quest.
Still, even if it absorbs 6 damage and leaves you a body is enough.
I like the mechanic of this card, but it's too slow probably. In the game if u are ahead, this is a win more that ensure board presence; if you are behind enemy can destroy egg and deny the 4/4
Very strong card if the eggs are able to hatch, but you need a clear board to play it because two 0/3 are easily dealt with.
So if either this card, or the eggs, get cleared off do they not hatch? Does this have to be present on the board for them to hatch? Or is the hatching effect applied as a non-deathrattle aura to the eggs?
Seems good but i don't see it fit in any deckm besides eggs seems very suceptible to beaing destroyed (if they dont have deathrattle). One of the weirdest card to be sure.
I would like to see those eggs as dormant when you play Nithogg to be hatch on next turn.
It might be too op tho but would be a nice idea.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
Cool card, but will it actually fit into aggro shaman
I can see this being rated lower now but everyone hating it when it's in action like other we've seen. Works with the quest and provides some soft taunts since the drakes have rush they'll be useful if the eggs live.
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
This card might work in Battlecry Shaman. On the other hand, sticking two (or four) eggs for one turn on the board is not easy. Maybe, this card is rather a 'win more' card.
Yea I agree the card looks pretty weak. Even with a double battlecry youre not very excited about it.
Probably the same drawbacks as Boommaster Flark in that it is a relatively expensive card that summons 0-attack tokens. The fact that the eggs will presumably have a triggered ability a la Doomsayer and not a Deathrattle also means that if your opponent has any AoE or enough minions to trade with, the eggs can be destroyed without popping out the 4/4 Drakes inside. Classic “win-more” problem. If you’re already ahead, then you can develop Nithogg at your leisure and get a huge board next turn, but you’d probably win anyway. If you’re behind, it probably won’t be enough to save you since your opponent being ahead will either be able to kill you or eliminate the Eggs.
Jaina is best waifu. Always.
Overall, not worth it. The eggs are threatening, but very easily removed. Just a bad win-more card, unfortunately.
The problem is that the eggs can be broken so easy, and with shudderwock it is not so great
Just got this card and other shaman legendary from my packs lol but 1 was so legendary so hopefully nithogg is good and not 400 dust.
Kenny's little poet. 😇
Balanced cards don't win you games in this meta.
Kenny's little poet. 😇
If the eggs are allowed to hatch or paired with shaman quest completion, then it becomes really scary. Feels like a win more card.
A card for a Dragon Shaman deck. It acts like a taunt. If your opponent can't kill the eggs you have two 4/4. But I think most of the times the eggs wont hatch because they will be killed. Right now I see this card being played only in Dragon Shaman decks.
Underwhelming legendary for class currently dominating on ladder, what a surprise. Eggs have only slim chance to been hatched, at least Blizz should gave Nithogg a taunt.
Fun and interactive game.
