Much cheaper than Volcano for roughly the half effect, also fits better to the warlock.
Nice, as if we need another Defile to destroy everything in early game. Sucks in late game though.
More fuel for handlock.
Could be quite nice control tool so long as you have no minions of your own, and you can always combo it with cards like Acolyte of Pain for some quick draw.
Max 9 damage without Valdris Felgorge and 11 with, like a cheaper Volcano for warlock. Should see a decent amount of play.
Spreading Madness reprint?
Not bad for a controlish handlock deck, but... i dont know if is worth to deal up to 11 splitted damage to a minions.
By The Holy Light!
Turn 3 deal 8 Damage randomly sounds pretty good against swarmy Decks. At best it's a weaker volcano for less.

Does this scale with spell power?
Handlock support! Cheaper than Meteorologist, but in exchange for not having a body on board and being random. This would be great at keeping the board clear during the early to mid-game as Handlock typically explodes during the late game
Well it's over
Overall, defile was a lot better. But this can ruin an aggro players early game quite hefty.
The randomness makes it inconsistent though.
Decent Handlock tool, but nothing great.
Except both of them being cheap symmetrical board clears how is this comparable?
Playing around this is to have total hp in your board is equal to up to +2 cards in your opponent's hand ( warlock's hero power draws more cards).. Playing around defile is to avoid recursive amounts of hp on both sides of the board...
I think this card is very good, at full hand it's a Reno the relicologist effect as a control deck.. Handlock seems to be back!!
Amazing card, I see they are pushing for a handlock deck and love it! It may also hit your own minions so better be used when your board is empty!
Good question
Yep, if you have 9 cards and +1 spell power, you will deal 10 damage splitted.
At least Spreading Madness works like this.
By The Holy Light!
Really bad card compared to other Warlock AOEs like Defile or Hellfire.
-=alfi=-
A little support for classic controlish handlock, but i dont think this will be the carry-card for the archetype. Okay on its own, but very strong if you have spell damage. Will see some play, but i doubt it will be a must-have in handlock decks.
Never netdeck, craft Whizbang instead!
Seems underwhelming. Maximum damage is 11 damage, but mostly this deals less. On curve it could remove small boards, if you're lucky. Might fit HandLock if Aggro becomes too prevalent, but I doubt it.
Wonderful name and concept, but probably not strong enough. Seems decent if you have a full hand and an empty board, else it's kinda useless.
Its good enough clear early/mid game. Hellfire / Crazed Netherwing plus this probably can clear pretty big boards.
Add Lord Godfrey to the mix control lock could raise from its ashes.
good tool for control handlock, but i think there are better tools
Good for early, meh for late.
Still useable against those 1-2 health early minions in the meta and lackeys.
between 3 and 4 stars imo.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
Really good, I would not say OP but may help Handlock to be a competitive deck against agro
I'm not convinced Dark Skies is good enough, but it's very flexible. In a Handlock this could pretty consistently be 3 mana 6+ damage. Comparing to Cinderstorm (which has seen play), that looks like a good deal, but Dark Skies can hit your minions and can't hit face. There will be cases with this is functionally single target removal for the one medium to large thing your opponent has, or cases where this is a good AOE in the early game, but it's inconsistent enough that I'm not sure it'll see play.
This might be the final piece Control Warlock needed.
Sure, it's much worse than Defile, but it helps keeping control of the board early while not being punished for tapping. Sometimes this might just be good enough as 4-5 damage to kill some snowballing threat (like a Murloc Tidecaller + smaller murlocs)
I also think this encourages running thalnos in Warlock, because if I read it correctly, you're gonna end up with 2-damage pings per card, (while Thalnos willl only ever eat up one), which makes it a relevant boardclear later on.
Maybe it also works with Spellzerker, but i doubt it.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
great control tool for early game vs aggro decks
Good board clear if you have no minions. Might be used in control decks.
nice for handlock early game removals on aggro..but a bit RNG on the damage may have a reverse effect if you have minions on board.
A [Hearthstone Card (Vulcano) Not Found] for Handlock for 3 mana but less damage. We must consider if 5/6 damage split on board is enough to be played, since can it your minion too. If "spell damage" dobule the damage it will be a good combo otherwise it's an avarage card
Decent for handlock, but there are many better board clears. A nice option in the early game vs aggro though. Spreading Madness never really broke the game, neither will thi.
this isn't that bad if you don't play any cards. could stabilize before you start doing handlock things
Warlock has enough AOE removal that I don't expect this will see much play, especially given the variable amount of damage.
Weak on the arena, Okay on ranked play in handlock, but I don't think it'll be played.
Good card. Like volcano, but cheaper and no overload. And warlock can easily draw enough cards to clear out most of a board.
I don't like this card, nor I don't think it will see a lot of play. The goal for Handlock is playing their Mountain Giant as soon as possible, and they should be able to play it on turn 4 when it costs (4). If you attempt to play this card before turn 4, you may get to reduce some face damage you get from aggro decks, but then you slow down your progress, and by turn 5 or 6 of you enemy, they have a much higher percentage to outright kill your Giant.
The fact it can also damages your own minions makes this quite redundant when you want to maybe clear a bit of enemy stuff, but you also have your board set up and you want to push more damage into your opponent's face. And it's quite a rare likehood you'll get to deal 11 damage in total with this card.
Overall a bad card, only usable if you pray to RNGesus or in the early game if you don't mind playing your Giant later, which I don't think it's the right mindset to play Handlock. I don't even think all new hand-related cards Warlock will get are going to change much for the class, but we shall see in near future.
2/5

A good card to help control warlock type of decks clear board in the early game. I'm still not sure if a control warlock deck will find a space in the meta, if it will this card will see play
It should be 10-12 damage max since it does 1 damage regardless of whether you have any cards in hand. Spell damage would be pretty nice with this card, but might just die early on without helping much
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Beacuse the wording says 'repeat' the effect, I believe if the minion with spell damage dies while the spell is going off, it will revert to 1 damage for the rest of the cards in your hand.
When you have no minions on board it's basically a Reno the Relicologist
Kenny's little poet. 😇
Seems decent against some aggro decks. At least it doesn't hit your face like Spreading Madness.
I would say the repeat is an indication that the spell damage will be applied for each repeat giving you 9x2 damage for instance. Most of the time, your base dmg printed on the card gets increased, also visually, so this would mean that the 1 is increased to 2 for instance, yielding a multiplicative factor and not an additive one.
What happens when your spell damage increase minion dies during the spell I don't know but I guess your spell damage is then gone so it will do normal dmg for the remainder of the spell, since spell dmg is a "bord state" attribute.
This does hit your own minions, which doesn't make it as good, but on turn 3 you likely haven't played anything yet. This isn't supposed to be used as a big board clear to get you out of a tight situation, this is supposed to be used in the early turns to slow down aggro decks. Most of the time, this card won't do more than 9 damage, but for 3 mana, that's not too bad. It is like a Volcano, only smaller, and without overload.
I think this card will be very useful as a way for handlocks to do something before turn 4. This will help keep aggro decks in check, which will help warlocks to stay alive long enough to take advantage of all their big dudes.
This card may not seem all too powerful, Spreading Madness wasn't/isn't too good, but this only hits minoins, which makes it very reliable. This will be a key card in helping warlocks to fight for the board in the early game.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
This seems pretty bad. It's alright in the early game, but if you're a Handlock, you'd rather be using strategies that refill your hand while holding board. In the mid and late game, more often than not, it's a crapazoid - too little, too unfocused, and too situational. I don't think this will see serious play.
Better call Thrall!
It can be a decent board clear for handlock that resembles Volcano.
More dragons? Yes please!
There's the Tech that was needed to make Handlock Viable this Year.
Definitely no Defile. Pretty underwhelming AoE card
Handlock is keep getting more and more love from the developers. Interesting to see if this find a way in to a t1 warlock deck after all (so many auto-includes...)

Good control card, in some situations can be even better than a volcano.
I'm sorry for my bad english :)
Obviously it's not as good as Defile; Defile is arguably busted lol. It will however find a home in a Standard Warlock deck that needs another board clear. It functions like a cheaper Volcano, which ain't bad at all.
Yeah, same as volcano.
Has viable has control lock is.
Volcano has been missjudged because it also hitted your own minion, but in the end it turn out to be a great card.
This one is cheaper but has less damage range, but, just like volcano, it is versatile to deal with both wide boards or big minions (not both).
This card is amazing around turn 3-4 but then falls off dramatically unless you combine it with spellpower (assuming that makes each bolt do 2, like with Defile).
Compared to Hellfire, it's cheaper and doesn't hurt you, but Hellfire maintains its power whereas this becomes a lot worse.
Handlock is back babyyyy!!! Insane card, no joke, it will be a staple in control. 10/10 card!
the randomness doesn´t make this that great
Maybe Quest Handlock will be good. This is comparable to Reno’s effect if your hand is full and you have no minions, just without the body, half the price, and different conditions.
Pretty terrible, the damage probably won't ever be enough, also damages your own minions.
I love the idea of Handlock coming back so yeah, I'm pretty biased, very good card.
not defile to random
Potential 9-damage board clear? Better save up dust.
Or just use the Madness card.
It's pretty good early on, but I'm not sure how well it will hold up in the mid-late game.
A good anti aggro support for handlock! But i'm not sure it's good enough. The amount of aggro decks in a new meta will define if this card worth playing or it's not.
Is a great control tool, similar to Mage's Meteorologist but requieresno minion on board and has no body, prety decent earlyand late game removal
Interesting control warlock potential, but not expecting it to be very good
Can work wonders if you have a large hand but later it will only do 1 or 2 damage combos nicely with elekk plot twist to increase your deck so you have more cards for this
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
This card is comparable to Spreading Madness and similar bad. It could work in some Handlock. If played at 5 or more cards in hand, this card has enough value to compensate for the randomness of the damage.
Yea its looking like a pretty meh card. Probably makes the cut but just barely.
Seems…really bad. Maximum amount of damage you can deal is 9 (maybe 11 with Valdris?). Sort of comparable to Spreading Madness in terms of how unpredictable and inconsistent it is. I doubt it will see any play since Warlock has better options for face damage and better options for removal.
Jaina is best waifu. Always.
How much did we see spreading madness? Enough to know this will get played...
Too risky if you have board, i prefere the other options of removals
Not enough support for handlock to make this card work well.
That's just bad. There will be times when you play it on curve for a sweet clear, but there's waaay too many variables for this to work.
Weak board clear, even when your hand is full. When its empty this is joke. If you find it in your packs dust it and return to good old Hellfire.
Fun and interactive game.
I'm never a fan of these cards that can damage your own minions when its a random effect. If its a plannable amount, like Hellfire or Demonfire okay, but not when its entirely RNG. Two thumbs down from me.
Very good early game AoE for Handlock
Last but no least
One of the 4 cards I missed during reveal season
I may not be a Children of Galakrond, but I'll be on top of my game for next expansion event
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Turns out this card is preeety good happy I opened it, it's half a volcano most of the time, and it only costs 3, running it in my highlander handlock and it does work, if any card was the hardest to cut the duplicate of it was this card it's amazing.
Correctly rated 5 stars, too bad control warlock just isn't there.. Once shaman gets nerfed.. Maybe, but zalae has been playing control galakrond handlock and doing fine hope it will be better next week.
