Demons in LoR

Riot set themselves a target to include every single league champion in LoR eventually.

recently league released this guy(it's rework but his lore got altered):

And he is now classified as a demon, there are several other demons in LOL:  Tham Kench, Evelynn,Nocturne, Shaco, Brand.

As well as Aatrox, don't fit into any region as they can't call any their "home region" and less have followers as they all operate alone.

And there's also Kindred which is also "the angel of death" so it can't fit into any region.

What could Riot do with all those misfits? I looked at the icons of upcoming regions (why is Zaun there?)

My guess is that this symbol is demons + void as they all share the trait of being "monsters".

My previous guess was.. "they fit the shadow isles don't they" but no.. they don't actually fit there, because they have no ties to the region.

The follower problem

The void is easy to think of there are many other void creatures and they could have a lot of voidling tokens..

As for demons I am not sure.. It's said Fiddlesticks is "the first of ten" (from his voicelines (if you didn't hear it it's creepy AF)) so maybe the other nine fiddlesticks will appear in LoR? but what about Tham, Evelynn, Nocturne .. are there other similar creatures who would want to support them... and what Shaco will have?

I am really hopping the first expansion will be void and demons (most of them are junglers which is my main role so I am biased).

What do you think how they will handle this issue of the demons being region less? and them not having actual followers (as they operate alone).

      I hope not.  Not that I hate your idea, but I think The Void is strong enough--in terms of lore, theme, and champion roster--to be its own region, so I think it would be a mistep to try to couple it with another region.  I'd much rather see them release it as its own thing and the rest as their own thing--perhaps a demon region which isn't so much a geographical location as it is a shared origin / culture. 

      Plus, just logistically: I see Fiddlesticks, Tham Kench, Evelynn, Nocturne, Shaco, and Brand fitting together well and I see Cho'Gath, Kai'Sa, Kassadin, Kha'Zix, Kog'Maw, Malzahar, Rek'Sai and Vel'Koz fitting together well, but I don't really see the 2 groups intermingling well together.

      Neonangel theorized that the region would be ixtal, but the symbol looks nothing alike.

      I think that the claws represent the demon clan/demon realm while the eye represents the void as it reminds me of Vel'koz

       

      The eye could also represent the demons as Swain has an ability that spawns a big red eye on the ground (that being said Swain if released is 100% in the Noxus region as he is a high commander).

      Yes, they do have a precedent, but with P&Z there's not much difference theme-wise.  OK, I know Zaun is supposed to be like Piltover's dark underbelly, but in practice Jinx and Heimerdinger both fit a "wild crazy stuff happens" scheme, as do the spells and followers for P&Z.  Teemo is actually from Bandle City, so it's not like they were even strictly limiting themselves to standing cannon.

      Perhaps the most interesting question is: exactly how deep do they expect the rosters for each of these regions to be?  Currently, there's ~20 champions affiliated with P&Z combined which implies that The Void would need to shore up its roster to be comparable--however, the same would be said about Shadow Isles.  My suspicion is that they are going to continue on with what they did with P&Z and Teemo: doing what feels right in-game rather than restricting themselves to existing lore and keeping all factions' rosters roughly same size.  For illustration, here's some charts that I'm totally stealing from Reddit:

        The shadow isles is all about death.. demons is about consuming.. like the void is

        Shaco has no connection to shadow isles too.. it's a possessed doll sort of.. a joker maniac.

        Yeha there's also a problem with Brand,Kindred,Bard and Ryze where do they belong to?

        I see Ryze as joining a region as a home kind of like teemo in zaun.. rather than having a home region as origin, he will have a region as a base of operations..

        They said they would add a champion to each region + a new region each expansion so I can see how the shadow isles might get champions that loosely fit them, but they have 3 cannon champions there so far sp they are covered for 3 expansions.. also the new senna is part of the shadow isles too so it's 4 actually (Demacia is overcrowded anyway...)

          I don't think that "origin" and "belonging" are same things.

          The best example here is Teemo. They've said that Teemo has Bandle City origins but he created his mushroom web in "Piltover&Zaun" so he belongs to P&Z. That's how you can handle with regions.

          You can shape lore around it. I really don't know the lore so much but if you ask me, it should be like that; you look at the origins first then the events which champion has been a part. Like Teemo creates his mushroom web in piltover so he lives there, he will be a part of the events of piltover.

          This is wrong to auto include demon champions into Void just because they are demons and they are like void creatures. They might not be a part of Void events. They might not even been in Void once.

          So champions must be included in whichever regions they were a part of those events in my opinion. I liked how they do it for Teemo. I hope it won't be like how you describe demons = void.

          Btw, Senna in the LoR isn't a champion card. I'm expecting to see a Senna champion for Shadow Isles. Senna in LoR doesn't have any ability like how she is in the LoL and Shadow Isles changes her. So she became champion thanks to Thresh. I am really expecting to see a Senna champion in SI even she has Demacia origins. So belonging to regions should be like this in my opinion. Even Senna has Demacia origins, Her champion card should be in Shadow Isles because it is how she has become champion and got her skills'/talents' theme in LoL.

            Teemo is operating in Zaun, not in Piltovers (you can see by the green colors of the shroom folowers)

            I am not saying the demons are part of the void.. but neither is Zaun part of Piltovers (they are 2 separated cities) just that thematically both try to consume the living world, the demons have no place to call home other than their current base of operations.

            Fiddlesticks is said to haunt the fields of Demacia( in his trailer you see killing 2 Demacian soldiers), but in his universe page it's said he has been seen in every other region as well, so you can't really pinpoint one location as his origin but he is not a Demacian champion, he could be there I guess with his followers being his victims just like Elise...

            I said that "New Senna" is a SI champion since she thematically fits there, the senna currently in game is not the present time Senna but a past one.

          No, I was sharing it because I think it was a great graphic, but unlike the author I'd say it would seem off to put Shaco, Fiddlesticks, etc in with Hecarim, Elise, Kalista, etc.   I believe he was working under the assumption that each region will get equivalent amounts of play with a rotating roster of champions, but that as there are ~20 champions affliated with Piltover and/or Zaun but only ~8 with Mt Targon.  What I'm kinda hoping is that they have the current 6 regions and the "main" factions and then append/rotate in smaller factions, applying artistic license and focusing more on what feels right rather than geographical lore.  For example: I could see them create a "peacekeeper" faction and join people like Caitlyn, Vi, Quinn, Kayle, etc.  And since they don't see as much play, its OK for them to have smaller rosters than the big 6.

          • There's no more Piltovian than Vi and Caitlynn if they are not in Piltover what are they doing?
