Swain Leaked!

This was leaked from the polish Runeterra Facebook page (according to a reddit user). I'm pretty sure its real, just because it would be too difficult for someone to make all of this art just to create a fake leak.

I'm not sure how I feel about Swain himself, but Noxian Fervor seems like it could be a cool addition to a Shadow Isles deck, and Ravenous Flock seems great for a Yasuo deck.

I wonder what would be the interaction with Yasuo.

You deal non-combat damage, Swain stuns an enemy, Yasuo deals non-combat damage, Swain stuns another enemy and so on, until everything gets stunned, damaged or killed :D Would it work like that? heh

I think it specifies Damage to the enemy nexus, so I don’t think that combo would work. It’d be kind of insane if it did though :

Wow this card brings noxus so much removal the 3 mana deal 3 to friendly for 3 to anything is just amazing in spider decks (if they still exists after getting destroyed by ember maiden).

Swain looks like a natural fit in a PNZ deck maybe with Ezreal as well since here are other 2 targeted cards (I really like the double and triple targeting in runeterra.. hearthstone's UI is limited to always target one thing and it makes so many cards REQUIRE the word random..) in the pool for ez noxus and swain fits very well within a deck that has so much direct damage to begin with.. also ez decks don't quite have a natural second champ slot currently it's ez karma but I think it can easily be swain and Ezreal.

BTW I think RIot will be quite mad on those polish facebook people.. IDK how you can screw it so hard..do they not even follow the reveals or something?

It says any damage not just to the nexus.

"When we've done 12 non combat damage this game"

I guess excess damage doesn't count since it's a strong level up.

So Fervor is basically just a better Black Spear (something's probably going to die) and Swain himself is...supposed to do what exactly?

What does non-combat damage refer to? Does it mean any damage you deal  outside of the combat stage via spells? Because that means he'd be very easy to upgrade by just playing removal and then give him Overwhelm or Elusive and just nuke the board.

Also, is this the first time we've seen backrow mentioned specifically?

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

I was talking about lvled up Swain's ability, so he was right to correct me, it does say "enemy nexus" specifically.

Oh yeah you need to directly strike the nexus to activate nexus strike abilities.

Except that for Black Spear, you can sacrifice one of your units in a 1-for-1 combat trade and then activate it to kill another enemy unit. Fervor actively kills your own unit (assuming it has less than 4 health), so it doesn't get to deal any combat damage that turn. In most scenarios, this turns Fervor into a 2-for-1 disadvantage, which only typically works out in your favor if you're killing a Last Breath unit or a token.

I would assume it encompasses any damage that is not dealt during the 'battle step' in combat by attacking or defending units. Which basically means any damage from skills or spells (although I'm not sure about spells which let your units strike an enemy, such as Single Combat).

The thing with fervor is that it can target face, I see an aggro deck that uses atrocity for that purpose so a - 3 mana atrocity in some situations could be great.

    Fervor is very, VERY dangerous...

Nox/Piltover: fervor will add consistency and lethal range to an already top tier deck. Life gain cards heals very little, there is no decent early lifesteal option and mid/late game LS can be denied now by selecting the designated block unit as a sacrifice to favor. Not to mention there are a few last breath cards that deal direct damage when killed, so its drawback will actually be a plus in many situations.

First big buff to aggro decks i guess =/

Fervor is highly couterable if any of the 2 targets fizzles or is killed the spell is negated.. glimpse beyond or another fervor in respounce.

it's a card that requires you to be sure your target won't die. it's more a card you would use in reaspounce to removal or an unfavorable trade.

Good point. Slighty worse then i expected, still believe its a very strong card nevertheless.
I just hope Nox/Piltover and Darius decks in general won't become too oppressive.

Hi everyone, i'm really a big fan of Yasuo and have been using him for dozens of games, but I found that there is no Yasuo deck is competitive enough to climb. The thing is every deck revolves around Yasuo relies too much on him, which means it'll be fun and safe if you have him on board, but if not, you're gonna be totally destroyed by any other aggro or control deck. And the other champions in Noxus and Ionia doesn't work really well with him, not even Kat in my opinion.
This Swain seems very promising to me, as he synergies pretty well with Yasuo, also being based on Stun and non-combat damage. So, should I invest on him? (I dont have lots of shards). And what deck do you think will be good for 2 of them? I'm thinking about a control Yasuo deck, using Blade's Edge, Legion Saboteur and Imperial Demolitionist to deal non-combat damage to trigger the effects.

I don’t really think Swain solves the issue of not always having a Yasuo on board. Sure he might provide more stuns, but he doesn’t help provide benefits for the stuns.
