First time legend here too! (yeay!)
Sorry for the brag-thread. But i'm quite happy now.
Made it to legend the first time in all this year (most probably due to the smaller grind, thanks to the new system) with zoolock.
Here's the list. Faced mostly demon hunters and rogues, where the deck does well. Got a overall winrate of 64% from diamont five to legend. Took me only 56 games (lol!) and now i'm sitting quite comoftable at legend rank 45788 (lol again :D).

Congrats :)
Congrats mate!
I think this one time you are allowed to brag. And I can't talk I did exactly the same thing last month when I got Legend for the first time!
And last month I thought, great now I definitely will get golden epic next season as will start at rank 4 - won't need to climb. Blizzard had other ideas :) :)
And this time you get a free Legendary! Hope it was better than mine when I made Legend this month (The Beast)
Enjoy the feeling and if you took a screenshot keep it somewhere safe !!!
All generalizations are false.
Congrats OP :) I personaly like these "Legend first time" posts, because I ´ve never been there and it gives me a bit of hope :P I´m happy for you, don´t let anyone let you down by saying it doesn´t mean anything, be proud :D

For even a slightly above average player (or average player with busted deck?) it's definitely doable as long as you have the time, and a bit of luck on your side doesn't hurt either.
But no rush - took me 3 years to get there, and I never actually tried until this year. Even if you never do as long as you enjoy the game it doesn't matter what rank you are.

Congrats! That surely is a great feeling :-) Nice to see that rather conservative decks still work these days. If I'm lucky enough to find Kanrethad Ebonlocke in one of my season's reward packs tomorrow, I will give your deck a shot. Thanks for sharing!
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Thank you all!
I played since 6 years, actually i startet playing 2 or 3 months after release. Most of the times, i only played the quests and a few games here and there, never made the grind, it always felt as if its way to much effort.
but now with the new system it was quite easy to get to diamond five (had a multiplier of 8, because i went to 5 last season). Stayed at diamond five for like 2 weeks, until yesterday i saw this deck, gave it a shot and decided, to do the grind one time, after i had realised, i need a lot games less than with the last system.
now i have the legend, after eigth golden heroes and 6 years of play. haha, i'm the casual player in person. :D
Also my friend your post will inspire others - like you say this new system is potentially easier to reach the hallowed echelon of Legend so if you used to get Rank 5 on the old system, Legend is now calling your name!!!

Congrats! I got Legend for the second time this month, though with the new rank and rewards system it is about as exciting as the first time :)
I made it with Spiteful Summoner Hunter which made me feel pretty cool since it isn't a very popular deck. I didn't think I was going to get to Legend, but this close to the end of the month everybody is playing Aggro Demon Hunter (which my deck has like a 68% winrate against).

Heyy congrats too, OP! I'm also a first time legend this month with the Eggro Warrior by NoHandsGamer. Piloting this deck really takes a toll on your mind really. Cheers for both of us who get here by breaking the meta. (No hate on Illidan)
It's most definitely easier, as noted by the rank 45k+ of the original post :) ... But I personally have no issue with it being easier. I'll probably try to hit legend myself (for only the second time) next month, just for the free legendary
It is definitely a lot easier to hit Legend. For one, there are 10 less stars between each rank floor, which makes climbing a lot easier. Also, the rewards are actually worth the climb. Before, I had no motivation to hit Legend and little motivation to hit rank 5. Now, with the free Legendary, extra packs, and all of the rewards you get during the climb, it actually feels worth the effort to play ladder.

Congrats! I have not yet achieved legend and I'm playing since Grand Tournament, LOL.
This month I reached Diamond 9 (maybe 8 if I play today) playing mostly unoptimized decks (you know, Libram Paladin, Midrange Dragon Priest and such) and a bit of Secret Galakrond Rogue, so maybe I'd try harder next month, with a good deck, I don't know. I don't have a lot of time to grind, but who knows. It seems easier to achieve Legend with the new system, so maybe it's time already!
The pleasure is mine.
My last standard decks: nothing special right now.
Congrats on Legend! I too hit Legend for the first time this month. It was a great feeling! Even more kudos for hitting legend without using DH!
Grats to you too then mate :)

Congratulations to the OP! I got legend for the first time this month - I think most of the credit needs to go to the new system, ranking up to diamond 5 with the multiplier felt easier than the ladder of old. I bounced about a bit from 3-1, before finally breaking through with control Galakrond warlock (pre-nerf) because all I was facing at that point were demon hunters :).
Thank you all, your kind words mean a lot!
And congratulations to the other legends too!
I made legend for the first time ever and have been playing since beta (being a father of three kinda prevents legend grinds).
With the new system and the virus keeping me at home, had plenty of time to get there this month. Saved the deck that I made legend with and started crafting the deck in gold (a thing I had said I would do if i ever got to legend).
Also is nice to finally have that box checked and now don't have to feel like I have to grind to get there again.
Grats - and with the new rewards you picked the right month to do it! (unlike me!)
