Would you pay to have an emote that says 'Boring'

Submitted 4 years, 7 months ago by

I just had a game in wild where I was playing a rough battlecry shamen deck (not full meme) and I played a secret mage.  I lost mainly due to not drawing my heals and being stuck with Yogg in my hand.  Basically at the end I really wanted my final comment to be 'boring'.  This is a salty response so we don't want to encourage it but we can allow it within boundaries.

So I guess the questions are, would we want this response to be available and how much would we be willing to pay for it.  If Blizzard sold me that emote for £2 at the end of that game, yeah I might have been in.  Do you have games where you'd pay more?  Is this silly or is monetizing our salt a viable strategy?

Come to Runeterra--get all the emotes you could dream of!  Including the below of Gankplank impatiently pealing his orange...

In hearthstone the squelch button exists, so no. I dont feel like paying money for something that my opponent can just counter with a flick of a button.

Besides which, the present emote system can already be pretty tilting. I personally feel that blizzard should not be encouraging poor sportsmanship, let alone make money off a custom made raspberry. If there were a laugh emote right now it might not be farfetched to suggest a correlation of that to a higher percentage of domestic abuse throughout the world.

No, just shake it off. As an alternative, you could eat a spoon of actual salt, that would technically cost money too and would produce some serious emotes, i bet :D

I'd rather pay for an auto-squelch check box in the game's Options menu.

Quick!  Someone give me something clever to write here.

    This times 100.

I either want to verbally overpower my opponents or nothing at all. Not a few lousy emotes. Give us auto-squelch Blizzard. It's been far too long.

With Hearthstone Deck tracker you can do that already!

Just install the "Autosquelch" Plugin and you will never get tilted again :)

If nobody hates you, you are doing something wrong!

You are playing a tier 3/4 deck against an high tier 2 one. It's normal to lose that matchup. Plus saying "Boring" at the end of the match would not make your opponent change deck or make you win the next time you encounter a secret mage

I love Weasel Tunneler and there is nothin you can do about it.

I agree with TartaMagica saying boring doesn't do anything.  I would forever enjoy the option to give someone the finger or say FU if they're playing a deck that's no fun to play against.  I'm taking to you Res Priest!

There's no way I'd pay for anything emote-related.

Also, your opponent couldn't care less about you getting bored: nobody plays for the enjoyment of their opponents.

Actually, if that was your reaction upon defeat, i'm sure your opponent would enjoy your salt.

Wait... that's a THING?!?!  That exists?!?!

I don't necessarily find them tilting, but rather just annoying because I know the majority of the time when they are used my opponent is TRYING to tilt me.  I also, for some reason, have a much higher ratio of roping opponents than anyone else I know and I would say those are more tilting than emote spamming.  And I'm talking the roping turn 1 to then play their Quest card at the last second of the rope kind of roping.  But then again those are tough turns with big 1 mana decisions to be made.  Is there a HDT extension for this as well?!?!  :D

If it happens turn 1 I give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they queued and stepped away.  If it happens again turn two, turn three... at some point I just rope them back because I usually play while watching something so I'm not in a big rush anyway.  Once roping back gets them moving faster I maintain it for a few more turns before letting up.

Well, I don´t think it´s worth it to put more emotes to this game. Even though I rarely squelch someone, I do it when someone starts spamming emotes like crazy. After that, I´m the one who´s having fun watching him furiously highligting his hero thinking he is tilting me with his countless greetings and threaths, while I don´t really care  :)

Something better, Lei Shen's sarcastic "You surprise me. How unusual."

I would emote it against every Ress Priest.

"You payed the RNG Removal Taunt, wow you resurrected it, I sure didn't expected that, did you even had any other option?"
