11x Bonus Stars

Submitted 3 years, 8 months ago by

With the end of the season here, I pose a question.

On NA servers, what is the anticipated cut off for 11x Bonus Stars? Also, are you required to finish the season at that rank/MMR, or can you still get that bonus if you drop rank after hitting high legend?

Thanks!

I got 11x stars on NA and EU this season, but only 10x on Asia.  Finished Legend on all of them during previous season, but it's the top percentage of the ladder MMR that is relevant.

I would guess top 10/20% but I don't know what I am basing that on.  And obviously you also need to know how many people will be in Legend on that server/in that format upon season reset.

I think it is final standings that matter - but I don't have definitive evidence of this.

    All generalizations are false.

    Thanks!

I’m guessing cut off is around 1200 in NA. I hope that you just have to hit it once, rather than end the season at the rank, but I would also understand if you have to finish the season at that rank to get it.

It's really hard to say. Two seasons ago, I finished at about 2,000 on NA and got 10 stars. But the next season, I moved across the country and barely played at all that month. In spite of only ending at Gold 5 that season, it gave me 11 bonus stars for this month instead of 10.

I honestly have no clue how the cutoff is really determined, but I can speak from experience that the cutoff for the bonus is probably lower than what a lot of people think it is.

There's definitely a star bonus decay factor at work which we knew already but it's stronger than I thought.

Finished D5 on both EU and Asia which are unchanged at 11 and 10 stars respectively this season.

    All generalizations are false.

I got the 11x bonus finishing at about 1650 on NA servers. Overall win rate of 71% for the season (183-130)

I got 8x both last season (I finished D9) and the previous one (I finished D2), so I really don't understand how it works.

    The pleasure is mine.

My last standard decks: nothing special right now.

Yea, I don´t get it either. In may I finished D5 in Wild and D1 in Standard - got 9 stars for both, all good. Last season I didnt have much free time to play, so I finished  Plat 3 on Standard and only Gold 5 on Wild... I expected to get 7 stars for Standard and 5 for Wild... But to my surprise I still got 9 stars for both ladders just like the previous season.. Is it intended? Aren´t we suppose to lose stars if we derank previous season?

It's intended. It was stated, that skipping one season won't affect your mmr whatsoever. If you decide to idle for a longer period of time, however, it will decrease slowly.

Alright, thanks for clarification :) I though "skipping one season" meant not playing a single ranked game during the month. My bad.

It has nothing to do with your badge rank. Only based on MMR. You can never reach legend (let alone "high legend") and still get x11 multiplier. It just depends on your MMR.

The badge ranks are utterly, completely, meaningless. HSReplay 'filter by badge rank' is not useful any more. VS breakdown by badge rank is, similarly meaningless. None of it knows what the MMR was of those players at that badge rank at the time of the match.
