I was referring namely to the asshole players who were knocking BG3 as being unworthy compared to the mighty Starfield, only to watch as they were fact-checked into oblivion.
Yeah, while I really wanted for Starfield to be good, it underdelivered hard. It sucks for all the ppl who worked on it, but for whatever reason, that game does not meet today's standards even if BG3 didnt exist.
I don't think we need esports or content creators listed in The Game Awards - we're here to talk about the games, not the doofuses playing them. They could have their own awards show, about the online community or something.
Also pretty happy with the failure of Starfield to make it onto the GotY listing: there were some very smug people before its release who thought it would clean up all the awards. I take pleasure in their wrongness; Team BG3 all the way.

I think my point is still correct regarding other expansions: if you have saved up Standard packs, opening them now will increase your percentage of cards from the previous five expansions, thereby decreasing your gain from Catch-Up packs.
It is somewhat usable now (before it didn't work at all), but there still seems to be issues, especially with searching and filtering cards. Typing a card name in Search doesn't work at all. Some of the drop-down filters work and others don't. Changing Expansion or Game Mode don't do anything. Changing Rarity or Type ends up with no results. Mechanic and Cost appear to be working as expected.
It's meant to catch you up to the current standard year. Therefore as I understand it's only going to be available on the 3rd expansion of the year (~December) from now on.
I'm pretty sure Catch-Up packs won't contain cards from Showdown in the Badlands, they should contain cards for every other set currently in standard, if you look closely at the art of the packs you'll see the symbol of each of the other five expansions.
If I understand Catch-Up packs correctly, you should open them BEFORE you open any other packs you have saved up.
Right now, I own 1 card (Thunderbringer) from Showdown in the Badlands. That should mean that my 2 free Catch-Up packs will contain 10 cards from Showdown in the Badlands, as well a smaller amount of cards from the earlier expansions that I already own more cards from.
Additionally, I have saved up a handful of Standard packs from weekly Tavern Brawls. I plan to open those AFTER I have opened my Catch-Up packs, so as to increase the total number of cards I get from earlier expansions.
