  • Strongest Decks After Buffs

There's a deck I've been using called Glowstone Paladin.  It's a mech paladin that relies on either quickly making a high end threat very early or buffing/discounting a mass of mechs to create an obscene threat or as an almost Inner fire-ish blast to the face. One of the biggest issues is that it's VERY hard to get Glowstone operational since it's 6 mana and you really don't get many chances to drop a 3/4 that does nothing at turn 6+.  That problem becomes much easier to handle at 5 mana.

Meanwhile I was sitting at turn 1 with nothing good to do till turn 3 and holding a crystology and knowing it'll probably pull Galvanizer.  I then realized I would have a VERY useful curve if crystology was 1 mana.

I'm very curious as to how the deck will work with those buffs.

Aesthetically this site is already much better. Everything is sized well for mobiles and the font / colours make it easy on the eyes. Thanks to everyone involved with the new site.

  • Blizzard Clarifies the Upcoming June 3 Rise of the Mechs Update

I do fundamentally agree with this argument.  I believe they could conceivably apply it selectively, to cases specifically like the ones above, but that would require them to recognize which buffs also have nerf qualities in some cases, and it would be easier to apply across the board.

I am also curious, if a buffed card later has to be nerfed back to its original state, are they going to use the argument that no value was lost from the original state to avoid refunding dust?  I suppose that question can wait for the bridge to be crossed to get burned, but I would hate to see that precedent as much as I dislike them not even considering offering dust for buffs (at least the ones which have nerf qualities, as described above).

Seems like mana cost changes of any kind should pretty universally be treated like nerfs.  I could see why attack/health buffs alone might never be.  I would prefer an approach like that over one where they change the language to cover this oversight, as that really does not address the issue described above at all, just 'clarifies' why they might ignore it entirely.

All that said, I would not want to overly limit their design space for buffs, either.  Would suck if they chose not to make mana cost buffs out of fear of paying too much dust out.

  • Hello everybody

I just hope he manages to make the interface as friendly as hearthpwn, I'm not a big fan of this one tbh.

I just came for the Salt

Salty that Renounce Darkness is stuck to only 2 copies per deck. Its power is bound only by the likelihood of drawing it.

Actually I'm glad that this site belongs to the passionate guys who worked for heartpwn and not to a company that seems to be disconnected from their users.

I will totally support this site and this team and if you guys need any help please let us know.

  • Zayle, Shadow Cloak

Honestly Zayle is a let down. I tried it both in ranked and in casual (Standard). Other than a pretty spot on Bomb Warrior all the other decks are basically meme trash. The all golden character is about the only reason to play it just for the flex. Otherwise avoid taking into ranked, it simply won't do well if you are ranked 5 or better from my experience.

  • Any plans on creating cardback gallery?

I remember visiting cardback gallery on hearthpwn, but after some time moderators dropped it for some reason.

Do you have any plans on creating cardback gallery?

Salty that I have to start over on a new website.

Mobile support for whatever collection manager you come up with, *please* 😁

100%. And it won't load images at all unless you tell it to cause RIP mobile data otherwise. Really want to make sure mobile users, a huge part of the Hearthstone fanbase, have an excellent experience

    Hella cool of you.

  • Welcome to Out of Cards

Innkeeper is dead. RIP. It's owned by Curse so there is zero chance of us having it or using the name.

We don't currently have a collection management feature but it is high on the todo list. Making importing as easy as it was with Innkeeper is also a high priority.

Ah that's good to know. I've been annoyed that Innkeeper hasn't updated for new cards (which has led me to use deck tracker more frequently)

Do you guys still plan on making the collection management a deck tracker like Innkeeper? Because the only reason why I would have it up was for a deck tracker and it was a side bonus when it updated my collection.

Woah there's a salt thread here too??? Okay this may be a pretty smooth adjustment

There's some ideas floating around for a dedicated SaltStation to make things a bit friendlier. For now there is indeed a thread, and hopefully everyone can keep things civil :)

  • What's your preferred Mage build in RoS?

I climbed to 5 pretty casually in the earlier part of this month with Cyclone Mage, but have been floundering around in that bracket for lack of a desire to really grind without swapping to "fun" decks to mix it up a bit. Still, I always come back to Mage ❤.

I was having quite a but of trouble with Warrior for a while though having swapped back to a Dragon build for the moment with some edits has been a fair bit more consistent for me. Nightmare Amalgam is excellent as a Dragon enabler/Zilliax base and Giggling Inventor has been *far* more helpful against token/aggressive decks than Rabble Bouncer since the Dragon build curves out a board presence much more easily to contest the board in the early game. Cyclone is probably still my favorite in general due to the variance in matches.

So how about you? Trying anything odd/different, or do you have a preferred shell to stick the Giants/CC package in?
