    From a numbers/statistics standpoint it makes sense, but from a "feel" standpoint it's a truly terrible way to test. And the way balance feels is at least as important as the statistics.

    Another thing to keep in mind is that the dev team is always playing with new cards, new mechanics, even new game modes. So they don't experience anything like the level of staleness that we feel. I think these two facts, snark aside, really do go a long way toward explaining some of the problems with HS.

    There are many stages of designing a set, one of those is playing a ton of games vs a variety of strategies. The primary reason to play multiple accounts simultaneously is having an odd number of people playtesting so everyone can be in a game. While it's true we are mostly playtesting future content at work, we all play on live servers in our free time.
