I figured out the deck archetype Prince Malchezaar is intended for. It is genius.
Hey guys,
Remember when Explorer's hat came out for LOE, it was theorized that Blizzard designed it as an alternative hero power for hunters?
I think Prince Malchezaar was designed with one deck in mind: Discard Warlock
Think about it:
1)Anyone who has attempted to play Discardlock knows there's a few issues with the deck. First, you end up discarding cards you put into your deck and that you need. Malchezaar fixes this by putting in EXTRA cards into your deck that you don't mind discarding. When you draw a useless or unplayable legendary (Millhouse or cho), it's not a loss if it leaves your hand. If you get a good legendary, well, you get a good legendary.
2) You are usually lifetapping a lot to make up for cards you end up discarding, getting you to fatigue faster than your opponent. Malchezaar fixes this by delaying fatigue by 5 cards (about the number of times you tap per game).
3) Discard Warlock is an archetype Blizzard has been trying to push. Now even more so with the new card, Malchezaar's Imp.
4) It's called Malchezaar's Imp. Malchezaar. Synergy!
5) I never played WoW, so I'm not sure if this ability is special to Malchezaar or not, but they gave it to him, and he's a demon. For Warlock synergy
Sure, he's definitely also a 'fun' card to play with, but I think this is what his viable use is meant for. I'm not saying it will work (like Control Hunter and explorer's hat) but cool nonetheless!
Edit: With the reveal of Silverware Golem, I think we can say it: Discolock confirmed.
