Blizzard have said they want expansions to be larger in scope than any one raid or dungeon. Here are some expansion concepts.
With Blackrock Mountain likely the next adventure, I thought it'd be fun to brainstorm ideas for the expansion to follow. Instead of raids or dungeons, expansions can draw from broad themes (like GvG) or whole regions (like the WoW expansions).
