Best of Hearthstone iOS Reviews

It's been a while since I've seen someone post one of these and I decided to investigate what's been going on in the Hearthstone reviews on the iOS App Store. These are a few of my favorites.

I spend a decent amount of time reading feedback here, IOS, official forums, and other fansites. It's always interesting to see the wildly different player perspectives depending on where you look.

Every time reddit complains about things being dumbed down do you just sigh heavily and open the app store as a reminder? How much do you guys feel you need to cater to people like that?

The goal is to create an environment where all player types have somewhere to go and be happy playing Hearthstone. To be honest it's actually easier for most designers to create content for hardcore users because they are usually hardcore users themselves. It's more difficult to understand the desires of someone who is a new player or someone who plays rarely, so trying to grasp some of that feedback from wherever we can is important.

It's always interesting hear a developer's take on feedback. I feel like many hardcore players are often shouting into an echo chamber on some forums (like this subreddit) and don't spend enough time considering the views of other types of players. As much as we like to joke about casual players, we can't ignore them.

We never consider it the responsibility of someone giving feedback to understand the perspective of all possible users. "I don't like this thing because X" is actually much more useful than "I think this thing is bad because other people seem to think X".

We specifically rig the game so you consistently lose, HeroicHeist. That's it though. Well, also Kripp when I want a good laugh.
