So basically a worse Arcanologist? 1 less health and draws a spell you might not be able to play next turn. Heck it might not even draw it. And your opponent gets to see what went into your hand.
It is a lot better if you don't play any secrets though!

I thought I saw something recently from you (or maybe one of the other devs), saying that looking back on Joust from TGT, one thing that it would have benefitted from immensely was ties going to the person who played the joust card - a lot of feelsbad moments come out of the fact that ties are losses in Joust.
I bring this up because I'm surprised/disappointed to see that we're repeating the "mistake" here with this card. I presume it's too late in the release cycle to change the text on the card, but would you humor me and talk about why you chose not to make the text "If your card doesn't cost less than your opponent's, draw it"?
Maybe you playtested it and found it was too strong? I love hearing those stories.
Otherwise, I think the set is shaping up to be a really good one, Mike! Keep up the great work and thanks for participating so heavily in the community!
If we reprint Joust as a mechanic on multiple cards we would keyword it so that we can add that you win ties. If we don't keyword it then adding the extra words is not quite worth it.
In this case you can really build around this card and make sure you win if you want or you can risk it and play some expensive spells and just a couple frost bolts for early game.
Important bonus info: This card needs the rest of the set revealed before it can be correctly evaluated.
