I had a lot of success with a spell-focused Priest (both buffs and damage, plus any Velens, Auchenai, Lyra, Radiant Elemental, anything like that came up in the loot) and Robe(s) of the Magi and/or bonus health. Wondrous Wand was also really useful for bursts of spells/Velens/etc., if that comes up as a treasure option.
