It must be crowded in his head. Is the Arthas part totally dead or he is still in there?

I really enjoyed the bonus scene in WotLK (part of a quest line) where the Lich King says "I was a shaman once," referring to the Ner'Zhul part but not the Arthas part.

The Arthas novel (by Christie Golden) actually goes inside his head quite a bit - it's a good read!
