Hello! I wrote this article and from all indications I got from Blizzard, you are correct. Buffs are not removed. The stats are simply swapped.

Ozzie from Shacknews is right, these are all good combos with Lady in White. She really works well with worgen, which makes sense since that is what the set is all about.
