How the Pros Rate GvG Cards: A Complete Tier List
I've watched GvG card reviews from 8 different pros and compiled a tier list from their opinions. I did my best to simplify each opinion to either good, ok, or bad. For consistency's sake, "good" means likely to see play in constructed, "ok" means possible to see play in constructed, and "bad" means unlikely to see play in constructed. I did my best to accurately represent each player's opinions, but I had to take liberties with some interpretations due to hedging (looking at you, Trump) or sarcasm (Backspace/Admirable). I then averaged all the ratings to get a score from 1-10 on each card.
The cards that were unanimously rated as good are:
- Crackle
- Mechanical Yeti
- Powermace
- Shielded Minibot
- Vol'jin
- Whirling Zap-o-matic
The cards agreed to be bad are:
- Bolvar Fordragon
- Clockwork Giant
- Cobalt Guardian
- Cobra Shot
- Dark Wispers
- Flying Machine
- Force Tank MAX
- Gnomeregan Infantry
- King of Beasts
- Mekgineer Thermaplugg
- Mini Mage
- Salty Dog
- Stonesplinter Trogg
Some cards reddit seemed to think were OP:
- Iron Juggernaut - 7.9/10
- Gahz'rilla - 6.5/10
- Feign Death - 2.9/10
Hopefully this can be useful for people deciding on day 1 crafts, or just to look back a month later to see how wrong we were.
Realz
I counted 12 cards with a score of 5 or under that I think deserve to be higher. Can't wait to see if players can make things work even though this particular group of pros didn't collectively score them highly at first glance. So excited for GvG! =D
