I’m saying the CG quality aged very poorly. I’ve watched all 3 Toy Story films recently and the first 2 are dramatically lower quality CG.
You may need an eye for this sort of stuff, but the textures look muddy and repetitive, animation is stiffer in places, human faces look really weird, etc. It’s not even the toy characters that are the problem, most of them look fine, but everything else is noticeably low quality compared to Toy Story 3.
It’s still a great film and definitely worth watching but if you’re looking at details then the CG has aged.
I'm not sure how far down the graphics rabbit hole you like to go, but if you haven't seen it the Pixar Online Library has all their tech research memos and papers. Most of it's unreadably technical (at least for me), but even then it's fun to rifle through 'em and see how the problems they're tackling have evolved.
